My uncle, a very fit 88-year old, was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 1/2 years ago and while the hormonal treatment kept it in check for a couple of years, his PSA has now risen to 1600 and the scans show has spread to his bones. He has been tinkering with different hormonal regimes, abiraterone

Breathing problem.
Even though 6 months ago I was told I was stage 4 and Gleason 9 the use of Orgovyx and Zytiga have brought my PSA from 72 to 0.4, and my numerous cancer hot spots appear under control. My PSA continues to go down and I'm without pain. However, I find myself breathing very hard just climbing a flight

What's different between Xtandi vs NUBEQA® (darolutamide) vs ERLEADA® (apalutamide)
Hello Everyone, zytiga didn’t work so move to xtandi After two months, Xtandi did not work, and PSA started going up; I suggested to the doctor to prescribe other medicine ( NUBEQA® (darolutamide) or ERLEADA® (apalutamide) based on this group's recommendations. Dr keeps telling me NO and tells

Update on my father
Dad was diagnosed in 2016 stage 4, bones and lymphnodes. We dont have a gleason score because his diagnoses was found through a hip xray after a fall and they biopsied his hip. He has had lupron, xgeva, bicalutamide and now he is on Xtandi. Dads last bone scan psa were July 8th. His bone scan showed

Update for kestrel5
Diagnosed in Spring 2010 (Stage IIB - pT2c, N0, M0). Lung mets confirmed in September 2015. I am, as they say, heavily pre-treated. Recent scans and bloodwork: no evidence of cancer, three years of undetectable PSA. Never say 'cured,' but I am enjoying a period of durable treatment effects.

Choosing Among the Many Treatment Options for Prostate Cancer, MedPage Today
This article is one of several in a MedPage Today series called "Medical Journeys". In combination with the earlier PCa articles in the series (linked via this article), it provides a good overview/guide to patients who, along with their medical team, are trying to determine the best treatment

New study from Spain [1]. For many years, I used a product that probably contained DES (diethylstilbestrol) - perhaps 1 mg? My QoL was very good. When I eventually migrated to 3 mg DES - plus a shot of testosterone cypionate every 3 months - I began to feel frail. The new study associates high

🤖 ChatGPT on Cancer-Fighting Exercise💪 vs PCa
ChatGPT, the free AI research tool provided by OpenAI, is surprisingly good at summarizing some topic of interest that one might be interested in. I submitted a long question this evening on "
exercise against metastatic prostate cancer progression
". My goal is understanding exercise in an environment

considering stopping adt/abiraterone to see what happens
it’s been 8 months since I found myself to have a PSA of 70, it is now 0.0 and I am due for the ADT injection. I have coupled standard treatment with rife, mushrooms, ivermectin, fenbendazole, apricot seeds, green tea, vit e, graviola. What is the feeling on the board here should I see if the alternative

Abiraterone edema management
One of the fun things I am getting as an SE while on lupron/abiraterone/prednisone is fluid retention. Edema and getting up to pee 3-4 times nightly (losing 3-4 lbs of weight during the night.) What if anything can be done about this?

Where do I go for alternative to continuous ADT?
I am 63 yrs old and was diagnosed in March '23 with mHSPC, w/ multiple mets in lungs, bones and lymph glands. Began triplet therapy in April: Eligard shot every 3 months, Nubequa daily, and 6 rounds of docetaxel. SE's have been mild. I want to an alternative to continuous ADT, whether its IADT, BAT

Becoming mCRPC despite falling PSA
Hey guys, I got a question regarding my dad. He was diagnosed in summer 2022 with stage 4, Gleason 4+4, PSA of 122 and many osteoblastic bone metastases throughout the whole skeleton (very high volume) He did the triplet therapy, which lowered his PSA to 0.4 (January 2023). Scans afterwards stated

Should I sell and retire with PSA at 0.1 following 9 months undetectable?
Diagnosed early 2022, Gleason 4+4. Metastasis to multiple sites on the pelvis, no other detectable spread. Triplet therapy with ongoing goserelin and abiraterone with prednisone. Abiraterone is once per day with a low fat meal. Following nine months of undetectable PSA results, I recently received

Any treatment after Lu-177 (Pluvicto)?
I have metastatic prostate cancer and have taken two Pluvicto infusions, but my PSA has gone UP from 2,000 to 3,000. I understand this is the end of the line...unless anyone online has information on where to go from here. Frank.

Bicalutamide
My Dad last week was diagnosed with 3 spots of cancer on his prostate. 3+4=7, 4+4=8, and a 4+3=7 spot. The thing I don’t understand is during the visit to the Urologist to discuss his biopsy results, the urologist prescribed 50mg of Bicalutamide to begin reducing his testosterone. I believe this is premature

Return of Armpit Odor - Yikes!!!
For almost two years, I (and others! 😃) have noticed the absence of male armpit odor. Attributable to full ADT (for metastatic PCa) and suppression of testosterone. (I'm on Triplet Therapy.) This morning I was surprised to notice odor for the first time since diagnosis. Due shortly for blood panel including
