Should I request an increase in thyroxine?
I’m a 56 year old fit and healthy female despite being recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s
thyroiditis
. I have a medication review with the clinical pharmacist at my GPs soon and wanted to know if I should request an increase in thyroxine?

Feeling worse since starting levothyroxaine.
I was on two minds whether to go on it in the first place due to what they think is transient sub clinical hypothyroidism from having De Quervains
thyroiditis
.

Thyroid Disorders (well, most of 'em)
Contains some very useful subsections on the various different forms of
thyroiditis
, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, nodules , and cancers. I found it pretty useful (as long as you can ignore the usual guff about low TSH / subclinical hypo in patients on Levo)

autoimmune thyroiditis
Hi, I last had my antibodies tested in Dec 2021 when I was diagnosed with autoimmune
thyroiditis
results:Serum Thyroid Peroxidase 1,300, range <100. Do GPs retest you, or is it likely I'll need to test privately and pay?

Under treated PMR or Pred Side Effects
The picture is complicated as I have also had Hashimotos
Thyroiditis
for over 20 years and am currently on a 3 month trial of T3 (low thyroid can also cause muscle weakness).

Low TSH, Subacute Thyroiditis & Iodine Excess
I've seen an endocrinologist and had a RAIU scan which has confirmed the cause as subacute
thyroiditis
, which in hindsight, I believe I had at the end of June 2022.

just feeling a little confused and overwhelmed! Can anybody please help me clear a few things up?????
So I believe I have hashimotos due to the raised TPO antibodies but I have also read that these can be raised in other thyroid conditions like silent painless
thyroiditis
so how do I know it’s definitely hashimotos and not this?

Endo is recommending radioactive iodine
I understand that autoimmune
thyroiditis
can initially cause a transient rise before declining to under active. How long is transient? I'd like to use antithyroid drugs for at least 18 months before deciding on a permanent course of action.

GERD (acid reflux) and Hypothyroidism
I think it is GERD (ie. acid reflux - I have a hiatus hernia that usually does not cause issues, except when it was diagnosed 10 years ago, it gave me a bad sore throat which over time resolved itself). and probably combined with the symptom of sore throat associated with
thyroiditis
(diagnosis is pending

Iodine
However, I keep reading conflicting advice about iodine and autoimmune
thyroiditis
. And I recently stopped taking iodine again, to again have days and days of hardly being able to get out of bed as opposed to a few days when I feel some kind of normal if not exactly 30 again.

Help required with interpreting followup results: Very Symptomatic & positive antibodies, but borderline hyper tsh & normal ft3 & ft4 again
Is this subclinical hyperthyroidism considering positive graves antibodies or does it still look like subacute
thyroiditis
? All suggestions welcome.

Hyperthyroidism- follow up blood test
I have another blood test in 2 weeks to test if it’s postpartum
thyroiditis
or Graves, which the consultant has sent me a special form for. I’m going to ask if they can test this today though as I’d rather know sooner than later what I'm dealing with. thanks ☺️
