Advice needed please
In 1999 I had a partial
thyroidectomy
due to 3 very large nodules, my Endo told me I would need thyroxine for the rest of my life. Then I moved areas and my new GP refused to prescribe it as he said I didn't need it, my thyroid was working perfectly well.

NHS stopping T3
Hi everyone I'm Susi and I had a total
Thyroidectomy
about three years ago. I have been taking 3 x 20mcg Liothyronine per day and have felt absolutely fine. However, my GP has told me that the NHS are no longer funding this drug and I will have to take T4 instead.

Hypo with High Blood Pressure
I'm waiting for total
thyroidectomy
as I have nodules on both sides. There is a +40week waiting list in East Sussex for any thyroid operations. Out of the blue I have developed high blood pressure. Neck is so tender but doc says it's blood pressure and not related to thyroid.

Partial thyroidectomy done
Had a right sided
thyroidectomy
yesterday morning due to large goitre which needed to be removed for diagnostic tests. Have been told to book blood tests in approximately 2 weeks time. Notice he's only asked for Tsh, T4, maybe T3 but not sure what the form said.

T3 in Greece
Has a total
thyroidectomy
and on t4. In the UK where my TSH is "normal" but tested T3 which is low. Retaining water, gaining weight, itching, and getting depressed. Desperately wanting to try some t3. I know about other factors and all tested fine. Some of you know about t3 in Greece.

I had a
Thyroidectomy
and only on Levo. I thought that I would try to balance my nutrients before trying the T3 route. Thank you.

ADVICE - PLEASE HELP
I had a total
thyroidectomy
in 2009 as I was on the highest dose of Carbimazole and Beta blockers which did nothing for me at all.. After my surgery I started my journey on a MASSIVE 300mcg of Levothyroxine. I kept on this dose for approximately 4-5 years.

Anybody experience losing balance and falling to the ground while having hyperthyroidism?
Hi everyone, I am 25 now and had a full
thyroidectomy
last year after two failed radioactive treatments. Now I am on 100 mg thyroxine. I was first diagnosed with hyperthyroidism when I was in high school around age 17-18.

How do I request these blood tests if they don't show on the form
After a partial
thyroidectomy
on Monday I have been requested to get bloods redone on 14th August so 2 weeks after the operation. As consultant had only selected TSH and T4 I asked if, as my insurance company were paying I could have more tests done.

Anyone else become sensitive to side effects of medicines after thyroidectomy?
Has anyone else had a partial or total
thyroidectomy
and found they've become very reactive to side effects of medicines? This includes changes to Levothyroxine but other drugs too. In particular joint and muscle pain as a side effect.

Primary or acquired hypothyroidism
As I have had a complete
thyroidectomy
I thought I had Primary Hypothyroidism. My GP has (finally) referred me to an NHS end and said I have acquired hypothyroid. Is this correct.
