Just diagnosed with 4.0 cm aneurysm of ascending aorta and severe calcification
Hi Friends I cannot express how shocked and dismayed I am finding out that I have severe calcification of my aorta and a 4.0 cm aneurysm. I have read that the aneurysm can be monitored yearly with imaging but there is nothing that can be done for the calcification. In the past 3 years, I have had

What happens to your thyroid levels
Question of curiosity. If someone is having a seizure and they take bloods for thyroid levels would your labs show a low level of thyroid hormones or would it show a higher level of hormones? I thought I read that if it you fall ill like have a seizure that your levels will drop to protect you???

A question on 'high' dosage
So I'm currently on 150mcg of levo and 30mcg T3 and my latest results were still only 65% and 62% respectively. I've just started HRT so I may well continue to see improvements but I'm curious about my dosing. I'm 6'1" and roughly 65kg so I'm on the cusp of underweight. I know we need what we need

Picking
My husband with PD has been picking at his skin. Especially his hands. Dermatologist recommended lotions for dry skin. Neurologist says it’s not due to PD. He thinks he is peeling skin, but I don’t see anything. Seems to me to be more like a habit, like biting nails. Has anyone else had this feeling?

SIBO!!! But fearing taking antibiotics, especially Neomicyn… I’ve heard of terrible side effects ( tinnitus and hearing loss).
Hello, here is my doctor's report: ''The report of your hydrogen and methane breath test is positive, both for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth as well as excessive methane-producing bacteria in the large bowel. It may be sensible to consider treatment with non-absorbable antibiotics. If you would

Any advice appreciated
Good Morning Thank you for allowing me to join the community. Thank you for helping us all. I have been going to my gp for sometime with low thyroid symptoms but they say the blood test is normal. My mother had a parathyroid tumour removed in her forties and my brothers and mother have underactive thyroids

Why does everyone seem to have permanent tinnitus here?
What is the cause of permanent tinnitus? This is so worrying, as my tinnitus started this month due to ear canal infection. Would this be permanent? I have been prescribed otomize. Would that be helpful?

Interesting Article (please read)
came across this article today and would like to know your thoughts: i was swayed by flashy advertising in the late 1990s featuring medical stars like Professor Lord Winston, who convinced me that omega-3 fish oil supplements were essential for my brain and my heart. Fast forward to today, and

Unbelievable Endo setting the record straight on weight gain …
People often blame the thyroid when they put on weight. Is it usually to blame? That’s one of things that our society overplays. In truth, the weight gain associated with untreated hypothyroidism is generally just a few pounds — we’re not talking 50 or 60. Your thyroid doesn’t make you crave food; it

Thyroid question please...
Hi everyone, I am writing to ask if you can have a sore thyroid without significant enlargement and with 'normal' bloods? I have had 'normal' bloods, it doesn't seem visually enlarged, though I feel like I am being strangled and have audible sounds when I swallow in my ears. When I move my head something

Weight loss with Felodipine anyone ?
I have now been on Felodipine 2.5mg for 10 days I have reduced appetite and have lost 4 pounds. I am usually 7st 10lbs and really don't want to lose any weight at all. I have IBS and had a bad flare up with diahorrea but didn't notice any weight loss at that point. Have an appointment with GP 26th but
