Chat with GP. Disappointed.
So recent post my TSH is still high I feel at around 4 but just in range but I know and told him about the facts and figures for it and still having symptoms and declined an increase. I feel I should do it myself. .. I can’t afford to see an endo or such so pls don’t suggest. I don’t know what to do?

Dose change - feeling AWFUL
As per my previous post, my TSH was over 4 on 50mcg, so I did a week on 62.5mcg and now a few days on 75mcg. I feel terrible. So tired, weak, muscles ache, headaches. I’m still on the Wockhardt brand as it suits me best. I read somewhere this can happen if your cortisol is low. I had low 9am readings

New results from GP blood test
So the saga continues. Previously battles with GP over meds, even though I am open and honest about self treating T3 and SI B12, trying my best to impart some knowledge or even a little common sense. Reluctantly reduced Levo a bit, from 150mcg to 125mcg daily. Last bloods 15/12/23, TSH 0.01

Indigestion
I have a dull ache down my breastbone which comes and goes. Although I have a mild heart murmur it has been diagnosed as gastric related and I’ve been given Lansoprazole to try. I’m concerned as one of the side effects is osteoporosis of the hip - I already have osteopenia. Is this type of issue linked

My thyroid perox ABs were always 'high' but it was put down to being hypothyroid. My TSH and T4 levels were not normal either. I put it down to not being fully compliant with my thyroxine. However, I've been taking it correctly for the last 18 months, which meant that my TSH is now 2.55 mU/L (norms are

Patient Rights, Choice and Autonomy - A collection of references and information
Medical Ethics – Seems only to apply if patients actually know about it…………..
Autonomy
An adult patient who… suffers from no mental incapacity has an absolute right to choose whether to consent to medical treatment… This right of choice is not limited to decisions which others might regard

Hello, I’m still quite new to the group. History of hypothyroid 9 years. Less well controlled symptoms last 18+months. If I’m honest I’ve never felt the same since going through huge stress 5 years ago when my husband was having treatment for a serious illness right after I’d just had our second

Increase dose or maintain?
hi all, I’m on 75mcg of Levothyroxine for Hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto’s. Latest result 1.92 tsh miu/L (range 0.3-5.5) My medication review is on Thursday, originally I thought I’d need to bring my TSH lower to feel well, but I now feel a million times better on 75mcg with no more symptoms

Asymmetrical Transport of Thyroxine Across Human Term Placenta
This new study https://pure.eur.nl/en/publications/asymmetrical-transport-of-thyroxine-across-human-term-placenta is behind a paywall. I have a copy, it’s not easy to follow but essentially says little T4 crosses the full term placenta from mother to baby but T4 rapidly crosses from baby to mother.

For context I am a 40 yr old male, diagnosed in 2020 and still suffer with fatigue mostly. I had a 6 month trial of T3 a year or two back

Results advice in dealing with GP
I have just received my latest blood test results along with request to make appt for telephone conversation with surgery. I had increased Levo from 75mcg to 87.5 mcg myself on 2nd November through private supply because I felt unwell. I now know doctor (It’s always someone different) is going to want

signs of mild hypothyroidism?
Hi there, New to this forum 👋 grateful to be here 🙏 I’m wondering if anyone could shine some light on my thyroid test results. In March 2023 my TSH was 0.98 (range 0.27-4.2), and my T4 was 15.5 (range 12-22) - this was done with a private GP so sadly no T3. These bloods were taken after 12pm and

Trying to learn again
Can anyone tell me why they test tsh when your on medication if it really serves no purpose. Isn't the free t3 and free t4 the main goal.
