Making a Case for Intermittent ADT in Metastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer
FPC'ers, Many times, we hear people claim that you should only stop ADT if you can't tolerate it any longer, and that it will not slow castrate resistance; that it increases risk for stroke, and heart attack; that it will likely take years for your
testosterone
to recover; that it increases mortality

Endo recommendation Tunbridge Wells
I have had a short synacthen test that shows my adrenal glands functioned when stimulated but my DHEAS level when I checked it with Medichecks was virtually non existent and I’ve had low
testosterone
in the past.

Combine standard care with alternative care
By reducing the PSAs to less than 3, the clioquinol + zinc killed more cancer than
testosterone
could renew, therefore termination. My PSA in three months went from 58 to 70 with alternative treatment so I intend to take two Relugolix pills to lower it and continue the alternative care.

Blood test confusion
I didn’t actually ask what she was getting tested bloods wise as I presumed it would be things like estrogen, progesterone,
testosterone
, AMH etc. When I rang my GP reception for the results it’s turned out that she’s tested me for Hep B, Hep C, Rubella immunity, Syphillus, HIV and Chlymadia.

How many estrogen patches to use?
The ultimate goal for castrate-sensitive men is to get their
testosterone
down to < 10 ng/dL, and preferably less than 5 ng/dL. Some men on estrogen have gotten their T down to 3 ng/dL, which is a fantastic number!

After bicalutimide and a high testosterone level is pre treatment T just guess work?
i am curious, as I didn’t have a pre treatment base line
testosterone
taken, I did have a T level after 8 weeks of bicalutimide 150mg which was 33.2 nmol/dL (957.5 ng/dL).

Androstenedione & Frailty
When I eventually migrated to 3 mg DES - plus a shot of
testosterone
cypionate every 3 months - I began to feel frail. The new study associates high levels of androstenedione [andro] with frailty.

ADT response and questions for MO
On 29 Jan PSA was 0.21 ug/L,
testosterone
was 0.4nmol/L - that looks like a very good response to me ... is it? 2. Also white blood cell and lymphocytes low, ALP and bilirubin high. Is that anything to follow up with MO? 3. I gather RT takes 3 or more months to show effects.

Help with blood results
I wonder if it is linked to the introduction of
testosterone
, I started hrt end of January this year (gel and utrogestan) and
testosterone
2 weeks ago. I had an advanced thyroid panel at medichecks last week and my antibodies are clear. Vitamin D low to normal and ferritin is low.

BONE DENSITY TEST IS BAD
The bad is that my
testosterone
is down to 1, and I’m at risk of broken bones. Just had density text one score is -1.2, another is -2.5, and another-1.8. I see my oncologist next week, and think I need a ADT “ vacation “, as I’m also having a lot of brain fog.

In Our Time: Hormones
We call these 'hormones' and we produce more than 80 of them of which the best known are arguably oestrogen,
testosterone
, adrenalin, insulin and cortisol.

3 month PSA post RT/ADT, low enough?
I had my first follow up PSA test on 1/19 and it was 0.5 and my
testosterone
was 19. I was initially happy with the result but after reading a number of studies it sounds like 0.5, three months post RT/ADT, indicates a less favorable outcome. I have follow up appointments this week with Dr.
