W6 R3 owned.....
So tonight's run saw me finishing of week six at last. I was meant to do run two again but decided to go for it. The foot injury that has been dogging me for that week or so behaved itself. I got to 15 minutes and had settled into a good pace and my legs switched to auto and my breathing felt as normal

First (and probably last)Park Run
Just back from my first Park Run, which was a complete effing disaster. Can you believe they allowed me to get LOST? I know I'm slow, but they really have to look out for people....I was finally directed towards the finish line when I had only run 3KM, when I spoke to a marshall he said "Tough, you'll

PARKRUN PB IN YOUR FACE!!!
Well gor blimey guv'nor! I gave my new Ascics GT2000's their first run out today at Richmond Parkrun and ended up with a PB of 26'00. These shoes clearly have turbo boosters built into their design because I thought I was going to drop with exhaustion between K3 and K4. MAN that course is hard! The first

10k in 3 parts
Although I ran yesterday Miss garmin gave me a recovery time of 20 hours. Little did she realise we are walking round the world for work and I did 3 miles at lunchtime. So as I was interrupted yesterday I decided to try for 10k today. Coming back from injury is not easy and I ran out of puff a number

Week 2- Done!
Proud of myself! With my knee pain, I didn't know if I could finish week 2, but i put Icy Hot on my knee and a brace and I took off. I did just fine- a little pain, but nothing major. I wasn't as fast as I would like, but was faster and went farther than yesterday. On to week 3, that is, after I give

Week 2, Day 2 Done!
I finished the second day of Week 2. Wasn't 100% because I started having some left knee pain, so I didn't want to push myself. So definitely not my best pace or distance, but did better than W1 D2 and D3! It's not hurting from running, because I haven't run since Tues. I did cross train yesterday,

Tests to ask for?
recently 150mg of Eltroxin (until it's withdrawal, then Mercury Pharma) since my referral to an endocrinologist 3 years ago when my TSH was at 34.8 (I have no other readings from this time other than this) I am in the process of being referred to a rheumatologist as I have been suffering with calcific

London Zoo 10K Stampede - A Spectator's View!
Evening all, Aussie reporting in after the London Zoo 10K that I couldn't run today... Firstly, thank you to ALL of you for your kind words to date and I will reply to you soon. I thought it would be worthwhile sharing my experience of being a DNS today but still being at the race... and it was great

Using "Ladders" for strength training
No - not house ladders!!! :) Invisible exercise ladders. "You are your own Gym" App has really convinced me of the worth of this style of exercise. It is what is called "high volume - low intensity" strength building, which allows you to do a largish number of repeats of an exercise without

My C25K Report
Back in the early spring I posted that I was re-enrolling on C25K for a further term as an undergraduate having originally graduated in 2013 before holidays, beer and Christmas messed up my plans. At that time I had one goal in mind for the year and I'm pleased to say that goal has been achieved. Actually

1st ParkRun done and dusted. PB too!
This is a quick update for those who spotted my post yesterday were I had signed up for my 1st ever ParkRun on the spur of the moment and was a tad nervous about what to expect. Well, I went this morning and it was BRILLIANT! No need for nerves at all. Such a relaxed crowd of runners, supporters

Guess who's back...
So I've been seeing a chiropractor since putting myself out of action on the 7th September with Posterior Tibial
Tendonitis
.. basically making the inside of my ankle swell and up it was painful to walk, let alone run... so RICE and a "do not run" policy was put in place...

Middlesbrough 10K Completed ;o)
Hi All (apologies for the long post) I’ve done it! I’ve ran in my first ever officially organised run and I loved it ;o) This morning I ran in the Middlesbrough Tees Pride 10K and it just so happened to be the 10th Anniversary this year of my local 10k. As some of you may know, I nearly had to

things we know so far: 1) My left ankle is pretty unstable - even the new shoes aren't enough to support it. 2) As a result of (1), the suggestion is custom orthotics (or even off the shelf for now). 3) It's PTT - not one to run through. http://www.physioadvisor.com.au/8205450/tibialis-posterior-
