Reactive Hypoglycemia - what to say when having an "attack" .
I occasionally have episodes which I assume are reactive hypoglycemia .I am pretty good at spotting the signs and carry dextrose tablets . Despite this on a couple of occasions I've not managed to nip things in the bud and this results it what feels like seizures . I've no idea what I look like but

Blood sugar spikes on lchf
I took 2 spoons of ghee before having 2 uttappas.(56 carbs). After 1 hour ppbs was 129. Felt happy. After 2.5 hrs it was 250. I don't know what to do. I searched the net and I thought first phase insulin was blunted so even second phase also might have blunted. So just blindly took a dextrose tab. Sugar

DUMPING - Hypo -Research ....good news (1)
I post below an excerpt from a recent published and peer reviewed paper concerning investigations into certain after-effects of bariatric obesity surgery. This text is pretty indigestible but it serves to illustrate that big guns are starting to be deployed on the problem, which is identical to and due

Hypoglycaemia and late dumping
I had an Oesophagectomy several years ago but I am continuing to experience hypoglycaemic episodes some time after a meal and I presume they are related to late dumping. Sometimes thes episodes can be cured with coca cola or sugar but on occasions it has gone into a full blow coma. If this happens,

Learning About Hypoglycemia and Diabetes
Hypoglycemia is defined as having a blood glucose level less or equal to 70 mg/dL by American Diabetes Association (ADA). When blood levels drop to 70 mg/dL or below it causes palpitations, sweating, tremor, seizures, coma, and even rarely, death. Errors in medicating are among most cited causes of hypoglycemia

We need help with late dumping syndrome please
My husband who had a trans hiatal oesophagectomy in July last year is having a difficult time with late dumping syndrome. It started just after Christmas and he was able to control it at the first signs of a hot sweat with two glucose tablets. However, over the past week this method is not working.

Hypothyroidism and hypoglycaemia
I have had hypothyroidism for over 22 years and currently taking 200mg Levo. Lately I have not been well with typical underactive thyroid symptoms and had my blood checked. TSH is 0.41 so my GP has agreed to further blood tests, checking levels for vitamins B12 and D, ESR, full blood count, random glucose

I have been a diabetic on insulin from the age 30. I am in good health and my glycemic control is good, but I get hypoglycemia. Remedy?
is there a remedy to overcome unawareness of hypoglycemia? because that is what troubles me most. If I reduce insulin dosage blood glucose levels shoot up

Precautions a teacher should take to avoid any complications for Type 1 Diabetics in school
Main objective is to avoid swings in blood sugar levels (low as well as high) during school time. Teacher should see that type 1 diabetic child takes his/her food and insulin/medicine on time. He should not eat food from his/her friend’s box. Teacher should be trained for handling hypoglycemic (low sugar
