blood tests
hi lovely people, I was wondering if you could give me any advice. I’m relatively new to all of this and I’ve had a very bad experience at my last hospital. I was misdiagnosed most of last year with Complex Regional Pain disease. My rheumatologist wouldn’t even consider an autoimmune disease. Anyway

Biotin interference with Thyroid bloodwork
I am due for follow up blood work and just remembered that biotin interferes with the test results. How far in advance must I quit taking my B complex which has 100% daily requirement of Biotin? My last TSH a few months ago was .03, super low for me. I usually run between 1.5 and 2. But my FT4 was

Advice needed on thyroxine management
I am hoping someone can advise me about my thyroxine dose. Here's a little background: In September 2023, I was underweight and having trouble gaining weight and suffering from anxiety. I had been on 75mcg of levothyroxine daily for an underactive thyroid. I had recently developed pins and needles

Back Again
Hello everyone, sorry in advance for the mammoth post. I was last on this forum about 7-8 years ago in 2015/2016 after my previous symptom free asthma flared up badly and left me very sick (back on inhalers, steroids, and multiple hospital admissions). We managed to get my asthma back under control

Diarrhoea can be a symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency!
So if you get these other symptoms or a number of them as well, it's worth getting your B12 checked out with a doctor. The symptoms are: *Rapid breathing or shortness of breath *Headaches *Indigestion *Loss of appetite *Palpitations *Vision problems *Weakness and/or tiredness

Been put on trimbow
Following up to my previous post about well-controlled (or not) asthma, I filled in an online consultation form. Had a phone call from the surgery pharmacy team who suggested I try trimbow. I did explain my concerns about the anticholinergic bit as I had a rough time trying Spiriva in November and

Had my appointment
Thank you for everyone's advice a few weeks ago. I had my long awaited appointment today. I shared my symptoms, along with frequencies etc. I explained my usual stress response which is very different to the symptoms I'm getting. The Dr listened to my chest, said there wasn't a wheeze but it sounded

Hypothyroid muscle aches
I have been sub-clinically hypothyroid for at least 14 years, based on my medical records, and was was treated for hypothyroid when my T4 dipped below range for a short while. Stopped when back into bottom of range and T4 always remained low. My TSH was normally around 4.5 - 5. When I asked for treatment

Genetic Testing for cholesterol and insurance
Hi The only test I have outstanding is a genetic test for familial hypercholeserolmia (high cholesterol) . I was told that insurers shouldn’t ask for genetic testing but looking into it FH is considered to be an illness and diagnostic tests can be disclosed. I know travel insurance companies are funny
