What to do?

I have tried to take 100 Levothyroxine but I felt horrible. Would you recommend lowering Levothyroxine to 75 and adding 5 or perhaps 5+5 liothyronine?

On 87.5 t4

TSH 0.23(0.4-4.2)

Ft3 4.2 (3.5-6.5)

Ft4 15 (12-23)

How are your vitamin levels looking and what are you supplementing with?

Free T4 (fT4) 15 pmol/L (12 - 23) 27.3%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.2 pmol/L (3.5 - 6.5) 23.3

You really need more Levo, your FT4 is far too low. You don't need to lower Levo at all.

I'm supplementing iron and vit D.

When did you last test them?

Vit D should be tested twice a year until you know how much you need in each season.

NHS easy postal kit vitamin D test £31 via

vitamindtest.org.uk

You need to get B12 & folate tested as likely low. Most hypo people need a B complex at least.

To tolerate T3 you will need OPTIMAL levels of all key vitamins.

Testen autumn for vit d and at that time 65 so doc won't test again but I'm supplementing. Ferritin was tested a month ago and was 50 and Im supplementing.

Can you remind us why you changed?

Because doc wanted tsh within range.

Yet when taking T3, it suppresses TSH. Drs are obsessed with TSH but when diagnosed it's more important to have T4 and 3 optimal in range.

What would you do? 75 and add t3 or 87 add t3

I think you need a little more of each and retest

How was Liothyronine prescribed or was it self sourced? Did your endocrinologist or GP want TSH in range? Knowledgeable medics should know that liothyronine can suppress TSH and look to FT3/ FT4 when adjusting medication.

Yes, Gp wants ash in range. I get it from a online doc but they can't guide me. Do you think its best for me to try 87+5 or 75+5?

I would try 87 + 5 as your FT4 is low.
