Worse after 2 years
I had the first symptoms of PMR in the spring of 2021, was diagnosed that fall and started on
steroids
in October, 15 mg. My symptoms improved, but never completely went away. It wasn’t pain, but rather extreme fatigue and legs and arms that felt heavy.

Frustration
When I enquired why they haven’t tried to reduce to zero
steroids
the reply was that they are comfortable on the dose they are on. How do they know if they haven’t had any side effects ? Is it possible to be on pred such a long time without any side effects ?

surgery or not
MO and the neurosurgeon treated him with several rounds of
steroids
and other pain meds. Neurosurgeon says he needs surgery to remove the large tumor and relieve the pain. However this past weekend the pain started to leave. he has finished his meds and is basically pain-free at the moment.

thyroidoctomy
They have put me on
steroids
, thiamine. Vitamins and oramorphe. I have been in a few days now and the swelling has slightly reduced but there is still a lot of pain. They are planning a thyroidoctomy next week due to my liver and bone marrow. Finally getting sorted x

Recovery
As some of you know I recently had a bad chest infection which after two weeks of antibiotics and
steroids
seems to have gone (clear mucus no colour).

Morning cough
In November I caught a cold and had 3 lots of
steroids
and antibiotics. My question is I now have a morning cough which starts as soon as I wake up and takes me about an hour to clear my lungs. I do use the blue inhaler to open up my airways.

Blood results
Blue horizon indicate that I have high cortisol in my blood - I’m not or have ever been on
steroids
All very odd.

Going for my thrid collection🤯🤪adding luveris - anyone tried it?
🙈🤪🤯 Protocol has been adapted this time with alternate doses of gonal f each day, increase in
steroids
and the addition of luveris. I've read it can help with egg quality but no idea if that's true. Has anyone else added luveris, did it help? Change things?

First nurse appointment
Upshot is that she’s prescribed more
steroids
so that I can stop naproxen again and also now added Sulfasalzine with MTX in the hope that the pain and inflammation is kept in check. I’ve got to wait for the blood test results and the nurse will call tomorrow.

She is worried that I have been on
steroids
5 years . Told her I was down to 1.5 and would start a taper in 2/3 days. Dropping to 2.5. Wasn’t very pleased. Am I doing the right thing.

Steroids
and Mycophenolate ineffective at managing platelets. Platelets are now managed with Eltrombopag with a count in the 60's. CLL is slowly returning. Lymphocytes now 11. Current plan is to see how long Eltrombopag lasts and then look around for options ... not sure what?

Reducing steroids
Went hospital. 40mg
steroids
for 3 days and an antibiotic called Doxycycline. As I had reduced my
steroids
for PMR and GCA to 8mg a day, I was wondering if I should keep to 8mg a day after the last day of 40mg? I forgot to ask the doctor at hospital. My thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

a few days on steroids?
Hello all… I can’t get hold of the rheumatology team and am getting fed up of a mid range RA flare… feet and ankles are very sore to walk on and the back of my hand is fluid filled. I can off MTX for 18 days at the end of November as caught Covid. I was thinking of taking prednisone 5ml daily for three

The LP showed 15 oligoclonal bands and 3 high dose IV
steroids
in 24 hrs. I did regain almost all vision back but don’t watch me pulling into the garage…whoever thought it was a good idea to put 2 doors on a garage door!
