Immune Responses + Autoimmune Myelofibrosis
There is a form of myelofibrosis that is called Autoimmune Myleofibrosis (AUMF) for which
steroids
are an effective treatment if the condition is identified and treated soon enough. Search pubmed for this and you will see many papers going back 20 years.

late diagnosis-too old?
They prescribed a course of
steroids
which helped but the pain returned as soon as he finished them. He is waiting for a steroid injection into the wrist but now has covid. Covid seems to have exacerbated his pains. Did Covid cause a flare up for any of you?

Pred Side Effects, Tapering & Returning to work
I’m convinced these are due to the
steroids
, as I didn’t have these before the diagnosis. I did have the immobility, pains, blood inflammations and rapid response to Pred. I recognise the need to not rush tapering and I’m keen to get back to work.

when to call your neurologist
I contacted my neurologist a few months ago and they (the Pa) ordered a 3 day round of
steroids
which didn’t help at all. I called them back and they referred me to an ophthalmologist who then referred me to another ophthalmologist who specializes in eye realignment procedures.

Further Advice on raised CRP Levels and tight leg muscles
I don’t want to yo yo or keep flaring but the
steroids
weaken muscles so increasing them doesn’t help the musculoskeletal problems. I have another blood test booked in 3 weeks.

Management of Cough Variant Asthma
If we don't do that then its a short-course of
steroids
(typically 3-days) but we hate those given the impacts on growth velocity. Grateful for any community experiences and insights on this - thanks!

Does RA exist in the hips?
I think he thought I wanted a steroid high as he told me that bodybuilders take
steroids
to make themselves feel good! Apart from the fact that they are Anabolic
steroids
, they take them to heal quickly so as to train harder.

I am off Pred since April, but do I still have PMR?
I always had aches and tiredness, but as it was not unbearable and I rested a lot I thought this was better than remaining on
steroids
. I stopped the
steroids
beginning of April ‘23. I still feeel tired all the time, and I am slow and unsteady on my feet.

Asthma Flare-up
I haven't really felt a difference in myself since starting the
steroids
and my peak flow isn't moving above 310 when it's usually about 450.

Steroids and Diabetes type 2
since I’ve been on
steroids
for PMR, for just over 2 months, my blood sugar tests have increased from between 7 to 10, taken 3+ hours after meals, to between 8.5 to 12.5, taken 3+ hours after meals. Can I expect this to improve (lower) as I taper?

Tiredness and feeling weak, any tips?
I'm coming down on
steroids
which are known to increase tiredness, it's been a bit of a stressful week so I think that could be catching up to me too. I wake up around 7-9am, (sleeping at 11pm) and by 9pm I feel exhausted. Has anything similar happened to anyone in the past or recently?
