Sleepwalking update
Having done some research (medication leaflets and Dr Google) it can be a side effect of
statins
and beta blockers. Update: My doctor has taken me off the statin because of all the side effects I am having and because my cholesterol is down to a good level (2.7).

Correlation is not Causation - suggestion for BHF
Hi - some studies here in Oz have shown many patients stop taking their
statins
because they get muscle soreness, a fairly rare side effect.

Statins concern
Concern is re.
statins
. Husband has been taking two types of statin for some time. I am convinced they are affecting his short term memory (of course he denies this!). Have attempted to gather info. from peer reviewed articles on internet but not enough research appears to have been done.

Enzalutamide NFG* for me. Clinical trials beckon.
I remain on Zolodex of course and MO added metformin and
statins
to my cocktail of drugs to no avail. Probably not a surprise since I became castrate resistant 3 months after starting Zolodex (2017). So what's next? I am looking at 2 clinical trials at Peter Mac in Melbourne. 1. Galahad trial.

British Doctor Quits Statins for 5 Years Then Gets a Coronary CT Scan to See the Results
I came across this video this morning on Youtube and thought everyone would find it of interest: https://youtu.be/nS0Qr7wRr9o The name of the doctor is identified in the video. Eat right, move, supplement and measure regularly! Accountability is the key to changing habits.

Levothyroxine and herbal remedies
St.John's Wort and ginseng may reduce efficacy of
statins
and warfarin. Apparently women are nearly twice as likely as men to add supplements to presribed medicines. I am only reporting!

'No evidence' having high levels of bad cholesterol causes heart disease. Where do we go now?
Claim 17 cardiologists as they call on doctors to 'abandon'

•Researchers have warned
statins
offer no protection to millions of people •The findings add to the ever-growing row over the cholesterol-busting pills •High levels of LDL-C has been considered a major cause of heart disease •The

Care Oncology Clinic, or if not - what?
I'm thinking of contacting the Care Oncology Clinic BUT I am feeling fine and am quite resistant to the idea of taking antibiotics and
statins
which are possibly unnecessary. I eat healthily and avoid sugar and carbohydrates as much as possible.

Statin use/cholesterol management during venetoclax
Has anyone had to use
statins
/cholestorol reducing meds during venetoclax? In particular has anyone used ezetrol or crestor? My Dad was on
statins
prior to commencing venetoclax and he is hoping to continue with the
statins
if they will not cause any trouble.

Cirrhosis makes me sleep all day & night -- any remedies?
I take
statins
to protect my heart, valsartan to protect my kidneys, and lasix to reduce edema. I also take milk thistle. I'm really desperate to find something that will help keep me awake. I feel as if my whole life has been stolen by sleep. Thanks for any suggestions! -- Judy

Anxiety
I am taking Atorvastatin and I can see it’s a side effect of the drug - should I ask to switch to another drug or do all
statins
cause anxiety? I mentioned it to my GP but she just looked at me blankly which didn’t fill me with confidence.

I want to die of heart disease
The headline might truthfully read:
statins
and low-fat diets cause cancer. Of course I'm being a little flippant here. Cardiovascular disease - as it presents in modern society - doesn't mean a heart attack or a massive stroke.

High heart rate during workout
Hi All I was diagnosed with AF 2 years ago - im not on any related medication other than
statins
. I was told that as long as the AF does not affect my daily living then no action is required. I am 53. I have since continued to go to the gym 5 days per week doing fitness classes.
