Just wondering if anyone else has had issues like I'm enduring at the moment
I'm usually a well guy but just lately lots of intermittent pain on my left side that comes and goes just under ribs...
I'm currently suffering from what I suspect is going to be laryngitis with a bad cough and chest...and now this dull ache has appeared again under my lower rib cage.
I've been having constant headaches and neck aches for last 2/3 weeks that are often around the eyes and side of head...sinus I hear you say? Plus more frequent left sided chest pain....that's the worry
Yes I'm falling apart lol...
Just really having a long run of illness at moment
My real question is could it be the statins I'm taking causing me the issues around my lower rib area. I'm currently on 40mg a day
I had a urine test and was told if kidney was infected it would have shown..
So I'm at a loss...
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Rob, any problems with your actual vision? If so, ask for your inflammatory markers to be checked (ESR and CRP) asap just to rule out the head and neck pain symptoms being due to a certain serious vascular inflammatory condition.
Rob, how severe is the head pain and is it in the temple area? Look up Temporal Arteritis also known as Giant Cell Arteritis. Not common as illnesses go, but rings alarm bells for me when someone mentions symptoms like your’s, not least because it can cause irreversible loss of vision. It can also affect the aorta and carries a risk of abdominal aortic aneurism. You, hopefully, have nothing of the sort, of course, but important to get it checked out ASAP. A good optician/ophthalmologist can check the back of your eyes for any sign of the optic nerve showing any signs of TA.
Rob, it seems that angina can radiate into the abdomen: I have this and a paramedic mentioned the possibility as well. My microvascular angina has been associated with lots of strange pains but that doesn't tell you what your pains are.
Have you found that any drugs help with the chest pain?
Not sure that side of head pain is sinus pain.
I suppose that you could stop taking your statin for a week or halve the dosage, to see what happens. Have you talked to your GP about doing this?
I am sorry not to give you a magic wand, as I am sure that is what you would like.
How are your arteries. Do you need 40mg statin. My oh takes 20mg. They can cause bad pains. I took one recently to see if i can tolerate them now but very bad pains in neck shoulders and back.
