Why do you need cholesterol?
A serving of 100g of this tree gives: over 8g protein over 400mg potassium nearly 450mg calcium 164mg vitamin C 738 ¼g of vitamin A” I shall add that my aunt has been taking
statins
for years and me and my mum have see how she has degraded.

High cholesterol in family question
They advised that his siblings got tested and they all had high cholesterol as did the majority of my cousins and everyone of them went on
statins
. I had mine tested around the same time and mine was 5 so I was fine.

Have an Angiogram Booked Yikes!
He wanted my GP to start me on daily aspirin 75mg and to start taking
statins
(I'm on Atorvastatin starting dose). He also has arranged for me to have an angiogram. In my naivety, I assumed this wouldn't have been needed........but it is.

Statins
The side effects of
statins
was also discussed at length, and they showed some research where matched groups of patients were given
statins
and a placebo. What was astonishing was that almost identical percentages of the two groups reported muscle pain!

AF and Statins
There seems to be some evidence they say that
statins
have other health benefits as well as cholesterol lowering. All views as always would be well received. Ablation sometime in the next few weeks so shall I speak to my GP and see about a prescription for
statins
?

Statins and leg cramps/ pain
I was put on 80mg Atorvastatin after having Angioplasty but because of severe leg cramps and discomfort, after 8 months I have been prescribed 40mg of Simvastatin
statins
. I am now getting a lot of discomfort in my legs at night, sometimes a kind of burning sensation and aches.

Want to mange this thing!
Tocotrienols (rather than
statins
, which Cardio says I should take). Not sure about l-arginine. I have Apple Watch, find it useful, fairly accurate and use it all the time (without becoming stressed). Have sent traces to cardio and he is impressed.

Cholesterol high want me to take statins.
Have already said I'm not taking
statins
as don't want to risk type 2 diabetes or dementia. Will tell doctor I want to take berberine instead as does same job without the complications. Any thoughts, advice?

Crippled by Statins.
Heart attack in June 2020, on Atorvastain and other brands, now neuropathy muscle pain, can hardly walk. GP says stay on them or suffer another heart attack, but I have stopped taking them as my life is unbearable. Will pay anything for alternative. Can anyone help. I am male and 80.

Medication reactions Diltiazem, statins, Bisoprolol and now something else?
Statins
, of varying dosages and types, resulted in really high LFT ( I’m not on any cholesterol controlling med now which concerns me - cardiologist thinks I should be but reactions prohibit this).
