Just told my ejection fraction is 45%, GP put me on
statins
and awaiting appointment with consultant cardiologist. No symptoms other than occasional mild chest pains after exercise. No idea what to expect now, just wondered if anyone here can give me an insight of what's next.

Statins and Cholesterol
I have been told that my blood test shows that my Cholesterol is 6.9.Are
statins
and prednisolone compatible? Not enthusiastic about adding any medications into the mix.

I have fibromyalgia, which gives me this, so am hoping
statins
don’t aggravate it. The pharmacist said people don’t realise that
statins
affect magnesium in the body and you need extra. Any thoughts on this?

Advice please
I have ditched the
statins
that I was on although I haven't yet told the Doctor. I am still taking Bisoprolol 1.25 mg. and Edoxaban 30 mg. per day as several years ago I had a TIA and I also have had atrial fibrillation.

if it makes me ache more! Has anyone on site taken or take
statins
successfully?? Secondly just had a TSH test. My levels were 0.16.

statins update
As for brain fog and memory loss, don’t get me started on them 🤣 For years I have believed
statins
were toxic…… well, it turns out they are for me! 3 days of not taking them and I am returning to normal. i am now exploring other options through diet and exercise.

General feedback
I'm going to see how the reduced dosage of bisopromol goes and also looking at a supplement of K2mk7 to maybe help with the impact of the
statins
. Does anyone else get similar problems?

I have high cholesterol total 6.7 but I don't want to take Statins.I eat well, avoid processed foods etc. I have annual Thyroid function tests to monitor a Thyroid goitre which is not growing and benign. My recent test results 10 am no food or drink, were very brief, TSH normal, 1.94 mIU/L (0.38 - 5.33

Looks like this is quite a well established side effect of
statins
. I am on 80g atorvastatin. Have also just realised it cd be the ramopril.

Thyroid Function Results
overweight at 10st 4lbs ( I have worked really hard with a cancer nutrionalist to lose weight and have gone from nearly 12 stone since my op in May 2022) I now have high cholesterol - I know there is an inter relationship with under active/no thyroid- and I am battling with my gp as I refuse to take

Monitoring Hepatic Steatosis
I also have elevated triglyceride levels and it has been suggested that I look at
statins
. The Cochrane review on hepatic steatosis and
statins
suggests that the evidence on whether
statins
are effective in treating hepatic steatosis is weak.

Plaque reversal
I read that
statins
reverses arterial plaque. Is that true? I also saw that Berberine reverses plaque too: https://youtu.be/ZRArHoZueEI This all sounds pretty simply and would stop many heart attacks (assuming also diet and exercise)

How long trouble-free?
Due to
statins
, my cholesterol is excellent (total 2.75, , LDL 0.9, HDL 1.2). I have remained disciplined in terms of regular exercise (walk 5 km daily and 3 times a week in the gym strength training), medicines and diet (no meat, no processed food).
