More on statins

I've actually been tolerating ADT quite well over the past year but beginning in January I started feeling tightness in chest, low endurance, out of breath, heavy fatigue, attributing all to Xtandi...Then in May I fainted after getting up from the couch so the old lady took me to the ER...I had an emergency angioplasty with stent installation. Was feeling better than ever after that realizing a lot of the symptoms I was blaming on Xtandi was actually from blood flow restriction from an 80% clogged heart artery... I was put on 80mg of atorvastatin and ezetimibe 10mg. Slowly over past 2 months the fatigue has returned worse than ever. Couldn't get out of my own way. Spent the days on the couch.

Then I recalled my GP from 20 years ago mentioning that statins deplete the body of CoQ10... I never paid attention because I wasn't on statins at the time but whatever... So my recent research confirmed this is true in many cases....

I ordered CoQ10 over the weekend and received it this past Monday and immediately took some and every day since... I'm here to say that I feel like someone removed an old discharged battery pack from me and replaced it with a brand new Sears Diehard ... I'm flabbergasted at the difference this CoQ10 has made in my energy...I feel like I have a life again...

May be considered anecdotal or whatever, to each his own but all I'm saying is it works for me like I cannot believe... The only thing I think could possibly make me come more alive would be a nice shot of testosterone... 😄

Good catch! Glad to learn you’ve had a positive response from it. Best Wishes.

"CoQ10 supplementation had no effect on muscle CoQ10 levels or mitochondrial function and did not affect symptoms of myalgia."

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

It's probably a placebo effect. I doubt it will harm you - CoQ10 is harmless as far as I'm aware.

Maybe just SE of the statin 80mg is a high dose, and you could be feeling better as your body adjusts I've researched CoQ10 and I don't believe there's any effect

Can’t argue with success.

Long may it last. 👍😊

They should have told you about Co Q 10. I've been on atorvastatin and Co Q 10 for over 30 years.

My understanding is that the Ubiquinol version is the one to take. Better absorption level than standard CoQ10.

Yes, that's the one I am taking

That's cool but everyone is different. I've been taking CoQ10 for a long time but noticed no energy boost. There's probably no harm in taking it, just keep in mind ... everyone is different.

Hmmm... I was advised not to take CQ10 since it helps the cancer cell recycle glutathione(GHS).

Excess GSH promotes tumor progression, where elevated levels correlate with increased metastasis.
