Spinal cord stimulation
I live in Ireland and saw a pain specialist as I have run out of options to treat my chronic refractory migraines. He is going to implant a spinal cord stimulation as he said it should me a lot and give me a better quality of life. He is the best pain doctor in Ireland and I had to wait 6 months to see

Hi, Please excuse if I make any spelling mistakes or miss out any words. I had back surgery about 9 years ago for a prolapse disc L4/L5 S1 sadly two surgeries later it failed which still left me in pain with nerve damage. Finally after putting up with the pain my Pain Consultant referred me to see

Seroma advice
Hi, I had spinal surgery last September, I was rushed back in hospital 2 weeks later with a back infection. They flushed me out with antibiotics and put 42 stitches in my back. After that I had lot's of e.coli infections until December. Since then I've had 2 MRI scans with contrast and a CT scan.

Blood Test Results - TPA seem strange
Hi, I have just received my Medichecks results. The result for TPA is 9 The range is <34 I know this fluctuates but was surprised to see it under range. My doctor checked it in 2007 and it was 56. It has not been checked since. So, do I still have Hashimotos? Does it fluctuate so much? I have

Disheartening news 😞☹️
I’m not sure we’ll learn anything new as we have to wait at minimum 72 hours for the
spinal
tap
, but we were advised to be there if possible. The social worker will be by in the afternoon to discuss hospice. Jeff did not want to be left alone tonight.

I’ve been taking too much T3
please can someone help. I’m taking 50 mcg levo and 10 mcg lio (2x 5 mcg) daily. However I’ve just checked my meds and realised for the last month I’ve been taking 2 x 10 mcg per day T3. When I collected my prescription from the hospital I had a mix of 10 mcg and 5 mcg - I must have mixed them up.

Spinal Cord Stimulator and PMR pain
After 10+ years of chronic back pain, resulting from failed spinal surgeries, spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis, I finally opted for Spinal Cord Stimulator implant with Boston Scientific System. I am happy to report my chronic back pain has been reduced by 65%. Eureka! All was well, as I continued

Going it alone but hit a snag
Hi all Since my post from June, after initially trying to increase the T3, I had massive heart palps and sweating, phone endo on 12th July who said to leave T3 at 2.5 mcg per day and leave levo at 91.07mcg per day. He informed me the symptons I was talking about, hip pain, muscle aches etc where not

Mindfulness
I have not written for here some time but I have had PMR for about 12 years. When I retired 10 years ago I was under a lot of stress and attended a mindfulness based stress reduction course for 8 weeks. This changed my life! (for the better!). More recently I have been looking at Mindfulness again

Newly diagnosed - Hashimoto's question
Hello all. Having lurked here for the best part of a month and learned tons of informative stuff, I’m posting to ask for some specific advice. I was diagnosed as hypothyroid five weeks ago, after a couple of months of feeling terrible – exhausted, nauseous, aching, generally ill. After lots of investigations

Excessive sweating
With Parkinson’s, it’s common for the skin on your face to become very oily, especially on your forehead and on the sides of your nose (this is known as seborrhea). You may also notice that your eyebrows and scalp get oily too, resulting in flaky skin (dandruff). It’s also fairly common to experience

Spinal tap and wetting?
My daughter had a
spinal
tap
/lumbar puncture on the day she was born. I have just done some reading around it and am wondering if that could be the cause of it all. Has anybody here had experience with this? Is there any hope that this could be treated?

My brothers battle is over
Dear friends, It is with extreme sadness that I write this. My youngest brother Bobby at age 58 passed this morning. He fought hard for himself and his family for almost 4 years at stage 4. While he was declining quickly, his passing was unexpected this morning. He kissed his daughter and said
