Also I have been taking spatone iron sachets for 6 months so would you say I’d need a higher iron supplement? If so could anymore please advise on a decent one ?

I have recently changed my GP for numerous reasons one being he kept telling me that a Ferritin result of 11 was satisfactory, my new GP says it should be treated and has prescribed an iron supplement but it is also loaded with parabens so I don't want to take it, he said the Spatone I was taking was

Previously, I was only taking Spatone, but upon your recommendations, I switched to pricey grass-fed beef iron (heme), and now my Iron levels seem to have dropped even lower than before I started supplementing.

I am currently taking 15mg carbimazole, 10mg proprananol x3 daily and supplementing with Spatone, zinc, methylfolate (bloods showed anemia but not treated at all by docs, just B12) and skin patches 5000mcg B12.

I will get him on the same Vit D protocol as me and folate too... maybe some spatone or something to increase ferritin? Would getting vits sorted help at mo and see if helps FT3 level later on? Am so confused as don't know what to expect with hyper. Thanks so much if you read all this 🙏

Here are some of the results she received back in August when she was advised to take Spatone. At that time she had been taking iron tablets but had stopped because she was "fed up with taking them". Not sure how to advise her. Any ideas?

it’s early days but I have been advised to take Ferritin and so I now have purchased some Spatone. However, I am aware that I must NOT take it with the NDT and that it needs to be taken on an empty stomach.

It’s 109 and we worry if it goes below 105 so you’d better get some Spatone”. I don’t know much about iron but from this site I have learned that a full iron panel consists of four elements. It looks like my daughter has had one element tested. Is that sufficient? Is Spatone the NHS go to remedy?

I'm loathe to increase my iron too much, I hate the way it messes up my guts, but I'm now considering taking it every night rather than every other night.I've been taking 280mg iron fumarate with Spatone iron solution (5mg). Any thoughts?

I do: liver weekly and liver supplements, oysters, cast iron pan, spatone iron water (taken with orange juice), red meats. Please let me know what you think? Thank you!

I’ve been self injecting for a month now (plus low dose methylfolate and Spatone) and while some of the pins and needles type symptoms have reduced, the fatigue has been crushing. Decided to add a low dose b-complex to the mix and started on 1/4 of the dose.

Am taking Methlyfolate (400ugh) and Spatone and eating bananas! I feel worse than I have in years! All over pain, tinnitus is screaming, exhausted, weak muscles, can’t concentrate or think. stuck in bed. Horrible!

I have iron infusions when my ferritin gets low (last Oct 2022) because I cannot tolerate iron tabs so *I only take spatone 10mg per day​* to maintain and tranexamic acid for heavy periods. I can't understand how this is so high! I will contact my Dr about it.

I was prescribed 675mg a day of iron supplements during second pregnancy and had awful bowel side effects, including high calprotectin, mucus and blood, didn’t absorb any of the iron and my levels raised more with 4 Spatone sachets a day than from the supplements prescribed so am wary of taking high

I am now taking Spatone liquid iron, but feel it may take some time to build my feritin level up. Any ideas what else I can take to boost Iron. I have started eating liver and minced beef, despite not being a fan of red meat. I normally eat fish and veg. beans, pulses etc.

He said it’s normal but I’ve started liquid supplements again - 1000mcg of methylcobalamine, spatone twice a day and 10 drops of vitamin D3. Why have the levels fallen in a year when I became better last year? Should I ask for B12 injections? Apparently, I don’t have anaemia.
