wired after b-complex

I’ve been self injecting for a month now (plus low dose methylfolate and Spatone) and while some of the pins and needles type symptoms have reduced, the fatigue has been crushing.

Decided to add a low dose b-complex to the mix and started on 1/4 of the dose.

Basically it seems to make me feel rather wired and caffeinated- but I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve had zero energy for nine years so it’s just confusing my body!

Would you continue on with the low dose and see what happens?

Thanks, C x

I would continue with the low -dose B complex . You are just starting on your journey of repair and recovery.

Many PA patients find they feel worse before they start to feel the benefits.

You have probably been B12 deficient for a long time . It’s quite a feat for your body to cope with . You are doing the right thing . Best wishes !

Hi Pepperpots

I agree with Wedgewood and perhaps take the dose that makes you feel wired in the morning so it doesnt keep you awake.

I have been needing B12 injections for almost a year now and only just starting to feel more normal than not. It takes time.

can I ask which B complex? I’m transitioning from a strong one (Thorne Basic B) that makes me quite wired to injecting and and looking for an optimal less of a sledgehammer option. I’ve tried Igennus in the past that I felt did nothing but maybe that would suit me now?

just curious about others experiences with B supplements 😊

it’s the Igennus brand

I experienced that at first and do now occasionally for a few hours. I describe it as being in a high-speed wobble.

I take Igennus b complex and have experienced the same wired feeling verging on anxiety plus vivid dreams at night. It’s taken twice a day so I was going to try taking it in the morning only as it does seem to give me more energy.

I have tried Biocare methylated b complex which has 25mg of everything including b6 so I discontinued it after a few months. It’s interesting though that Igennus for the US market contains 20mg b6 but 10mg for the UK.

What are people’s experiences with Thorne I wonder?

Hi just thought I’d follow up on the Igennus question. For the past few days I’ve taken one tablet, so half the dose, mid to late morning with a small amount of food and it seems to be much better, I haven’t got the wired feeling.

It must be a very effective formulation to be ok with a half dose.

Thanks. I’ve been taking half a tablet (1/4 dose) with no issues.

Yes I think the least amount that’s effective is a good idea. 🙂
