Depo provera
Hello I am 25 years old and I am going in for a bone density test tomorrow along with bloodwork. I did not have any idea the possible side effects Depo-Provera had. I have been on the injection for over four years and thought it was great. rarely had any bleeding and did not gain any weight or feel nauseated

Groin pain flare = inflammatory arthritis?
I'm currently diagnosed with UCTD plus possible fibromyalgia. In the last six weeks I've had two episodes of a new 'crisis' - groin pain that I'm guessing is coming from the hip joint. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have had mild pain in both hips (really the grease of my groin, on both sides

Pain while on Depo Provera
I have been on the Depo Provera injection for just over a year. After some perseverance, I thought it's the best thing I've had. However for the past 2 weeks I have had that dull endo pain, all in the same places where my pain was coming from prior to my lap in 2012. The last 4 days the pain has been

RECURRING PMR SYMPTOMS OR ANOTHER CONDITION?
I began weekly depo-medrol injections for PMR on August 25, 2016, and have been tapering since November 15. Two weeks ago my daily dose dropped to an estimated 2.0 mg and I experienced 4 consecutive days with stiffness in my hands and mild-moderate shoulder pain. When I went back up to 2.5 mg, the symptoms

Steroid induced Shingles?
Hi everyone, I'm new here and am wondering if anyone else has experienced Shingles as a result of Steroids? I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with seropositive RA. I take MTX and Hydroxychloroquine. I had an initial Depo-Medrone jab to help until the drugs kicked in. All was well until I had a bad

Depo Provera
I had my meds changed from Prostap due to high BP and a locking trigger finger. Doc recommended trying Depo. I had sone lumpiness in armpit occasionally before, but now seems more prominent regular. (It is not constant) - This happens on / off. My stomach swells randomly too and aches where I had umbilical

Depo provera and mood swings
I've been on depo for a bit over a year and only now have I noticed I get extreme bipolar-like mood swings right before I'm due for my next shot (I'm talking less than a week before my next depo shot). I'll go from depressed to okay to happy to angry and finally uncontrollable crying. Then I'm back to

Prednisone and hair loss
I have been taking prednisone since last October . I started with 20mg per day and slowly tapered down to 7.5 . It does the job of masking pain symptoms and allows me to function well enough for now. However, my hair has been falling off like crazy and now I'm down to half maybe more of my normal hair

New here: Feeling like I am out of options
For years I was not taken seriously by any doctors, the whole "its just your period, you have to just deal with it" thing. My periods would be so sever that I would vomit and black out from pain. You could see my muscles cramping through my skin so badly, I halfway expected an alien to burst out.

Cholesterol and fatty liver
So for a while now I just haven’t felt myself. I have gained 5 stone in the last year after been really slim my whole life and I have gone from been an active person to a tired sluggish person, it is really getting me down. Most of my problems came about after going on the Depo Provera contraceptive

Possible Adrenaline Rushes While Tapering Depo-Medrol
As many readers are aware, I began a weekly regimen of depo-medrol injections for PMR in late August of 2016. See my 3 month old post: “Depo-Medrol Injections for the Treatment of PMR”. My initial maintenance dose was 80 mg per week which resulted in a steroid pulse that began at 20 mg on the day

Depo-Medrone
Does anyone else have 3 monthly Depo-Medrone IM? If so, how long have you had them for and what noticeable side effects do you have? I'm due for another on Tuesday and my whole body is screaming PAIN! I was the same before the last two and the DM jab takes effect within 24 hours. Happy New Year.

Stopping Depo Provera - what to expect
I am 52 now and have lived with Endo since my 20's. Depo has been the most successful treatment in treating my endo, no periods, no symptoms, no pain - happy days! I am now considering stopping this as blood tests show I am post menopausal. I am interested to hear from anyone that has been in a similar

I have mild lymphedema and lupus. I take a shot once a month of depo medrol for my pain and have found that it takes down the swelling in my legs. If I go over my month it starts swelling again. Should I feel like this after stopping the Depo-Provera shot?
So at the start of 2016 I decided I wanted to live a more natural lifestyle and this included my birth control. I was on the Depo at the time but wanted to be free of all hormonal birth controls, April 25th I had my last injection. Since then I have gone on a downward spiral health wise and I am really

Rollercoaster of a Month
Thank you to everyone who commented on my kidney & NSAIDs post. Kidneys were given the ok, slightly inflamed but no damage. The aim was still to reduce NSAIDs but without an alternative, I was struggling and felt I wasn't getting the support. In the end I decided to change rheumatologist and so GP referred
