Had enough
I’ve had IBS-D for about 6/7 years and last year was just awful; I almost had an accident last June (ended up going in a bucket in a shed) which then resulted in me avoiding leaving the house for months. To cut a long story short I had a complete meltdown about it all in August and wound up on amitryptalyn

What To Eat When Eating Out?
My husband's labs on 11/25/2020 were Creatinine 1.64 and GFR 40. He was told to start eating low sodium and low potassium, which he did. On 02/25/2021 his Creatinine was 1.21 and his GFR was 57. The Nephrologist gave me credit as the cook. I realize that labs are just a picture of a given day, but

Normal ventricles/fluttering atria?
When one has atrial flutter/afib and is on a rate control beta blocker (like metoprolol tartrate) as well as a rhythm control sodium channel blocker (like flecainide) … can the atria still be fluttering/fibbing but the ventricles pumping normally? In other words, can one have a normal pulse and a Kardia

Thick mucus! Anyone else have this? **graphic pics**
Hi everyone, I’ve just found this site and reading through so many similar stories to my own. I have been having serious problems with stomach pain and spasms with bowel issues for 4 months. In all from December I have had 5 red flag referrals sent from my GP and an A&E doctor. My symptoms are I physically

Why consider Ambroxol for PD?
A member of our community here suggested that I repost this answer to their question separately for all with PD to consider. The question is why should someone with PD consider taking Ambroxol, or more specifically what did it do for me and how much do I take? The 2nd question first. I followed the

Chapter 17. I dream of the revolution that must come... 1/2
This is chapter 17 of a book I published in 2015, "A Different Way of Looking at Parkinson's. Almost 20 years of experience with my father's disease (1994-2012)" (only in Spanish). Although we have learned a lot more since that year, I think it can still be useful to most sufferers and family members

Hard lumps above belly button
I have been having all sorts of upper gastric issues the last few months since a hospital admission for ulcerative colitis. The pain, gurgling/bubbling and discomfort is exactly where I think my actual stomach would be. When I lay on my back I can feel big lumps across the top section above my belly

Keto diet - two weeks in
I have spent 2 weeks eating keto way with TRE (only breakfast and lunch, so no food after 4pm) and here are some of my experiences. I was worried about the amount of food I was eating, and my weight loss was not spectacular (1.6kg, and most of it during the first week), but I noticed a few extraordinary

Help iron?? B12 is now fine! (Self injected)
I recently had bad thyroid levels which appear to have magically fixed themselves with annual monitoring by GP hopefully I can keep this on the right side of the graph! I have also had my b12 levels raised massively following self injection as per this site (thank you all so much!) My concern is I'm

Kidneys I'm a bit concerned
I wrote saying that I was physically very weak, and very nauseous....then I learned that my blood sodium levels had taken a dip. I'd been put on a new blood pressure med Indapamide which is a diuretic, but used as a bp med at low doses. I don't have fluid retention and stopped this after 4 days because

Help
Getting quite worried now, eating little and feeling nauseous, stayed off Imodium for 4 days, this morning couldn’t keep off the loo but only very little bits and greasy looking, lower back pain also. Does anyone have these experiences?

Seen the heart nurse for the first time
So hubby was rushed in January 2021 to hospital with breathlessness, 2 weeks later sent home with severe heart failure. Obviously we couldn’t visit, and his brain is so foggy, forgetful due to HF, I had one call from doctor explaining more to me. But I can honestly say, the heart nurse was lovely,

Blood Test results query
Sorry if posted this on wrong community - had quite a lot of Pernicious Anemia or B12 deficiency symptoms last few months ( mother also had PA late 1990s) but doctor say blood tests didn’t show it and I have various other health problems. Have managed to obtain copies of various tests done end of 2020

Can anyone help please
I suffered years with health anxiety, towards the end of 2020 I couldn’t stop running to the loo, spoke with my GP who organised a FIT test and full blood count, everything came back normal. Been trying to keep it under control with Imodium but last week it was just getting worse, spoke to my GP again
