It seems like when I have a bunch of drinks on the weekends the next week seems to be rough on me like it makes my nervousness extra high for

Sodium Butyrate: Conflicting Studies
So I read one study from 2021 that said Sodium Butyrate was good for PD, lowered inflammation, and improved symptoms and then read another from 2020 that said Sodium Butyrate increases inflammation and makes PD symptoms worse. I have e-mailed both teams for an explanation. I put the abstracts side by

Sodium Butyrate: Neuroprotective effects of short-chain fatty acids in MPTP induced mice model of Parkinson's disease 2021
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33905875/ Gut microbial metabolites, SCFAs, were related with the occurrence and development of Parkinson's disease (PD). But the effects of different short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) on PD and involving mechanisms are still undefined. In this study we evaluate the effects

An outcome I was told wasn't possible ..
I joined this Forum shortly after I was diagnosed with Advanced prostate cancer in early 2020. Having been told by my oncologist team that my Gleeson was 9 and the cancer had metastasized to my hip and I had no chance of cure and could expect to live for another 5 years, maybe a little longer. My PSA

IBS-D
Does anyone else with IBS-D go very often? For me I pass stools at most 4 times a day, they can range between loose and easy to pass to diarrhoea. Does anyone take anything to help the IBS-D? I’m only 21 and it’s taking over my life. Spoken to my doctor this morning and they have no clue what’s going

Advice needed on switching from T3/T4 combo to T3 only
I want to try T3 only after 4 months on T3/T4 combo. I had initial difficulties with T3 when I’d tried to add it a few times over the past years then found out here, all hail T.U.K. !, and with the help of a friend I met on this forum, that I wasn’t doing it right. (Was started with too much, as advised

What dose of daily iodine is recommended in hypothyroid?
What dose of daily iodine is recommended in hypothyroid? I have an iodine supplement that lists 150 mcg (micrograms) of iodine as 100% of the Daily Value but I have seen that some websites recommend much larger daily doses of iodine for hypothyroid patients. Thanks very much

About 'good' oils for NASH and NAFLD
I haven't been officially diagnosed, but believe this is my issue and has been for some time. I am going to overhaul diet and do what I can.... but I have a question about oils. I know all veg canola etc must be avoided. High quality olive oil is on your list to take daily. What about coconut oil

Cirrhosis and dealing with salt & sugar cravings
Hello, I have (3 mths ago) been officially confirmed by fibroscan & ultrasound with F4 Cirrhosis. Unknown to me, or not taking liver disease seriously, I have had pretty bad liver problems for at least 6 years. To be honest, I am still trying to get my mind around it. A few months ago, I was quite

Help with vitamins and iron status
I wrote a rather rambling post last week, probably confused everyone. Hypo after RAI, changed from 125to 100/125 levo 10 weeks ago, Endo not happy with T4 (23). Now I'm not happy. TSH 2.75, T3 4.07, T4 20.8 All bloods taken first thing in the morning fasting. I've had a problem with high ferritin
