How to persuade doctor to increase my Levo?
From reading posts on here I am aware that T4 and T3 should more often than not be in the upper quartile of the range for optimal wellbeing. Mine isn't and although I don't feel too ill I definitely don't feel in tip top health. My results are as follows:- Serum free T3 3.8 (range 3.1-6.8) Serum Ferritin

Thank you for all your advice to my posts titled "Is this normal?" and "Terminology help"
Hi everyone, I just wanted to say a big thank you. Because of the help, advice and support you gave me I am starting to make some progress. I now take my levothyroxine around 3-4am. What a difference this made immediately! Great advice as I can now take my other meds when I am supposed to so I actually

Add on drugs that are usually prescribed by a consultant part 1 (LAMAs, add-on inhalers, theo)
Hi everyone - it’s been a while! Here is the next (probably long awaited 😅) infomercial! Here are some of the drugs commonly prescribed by a local consultant. That being said, GPs can (and do) prescribe a lot of them, but I’d suggest if you’re on one of them and are not under a hospital consultant (

1 Week Post RAI Question/Symptoms?
I received the treatment dose of RAI 8 days ago and had my full body scan on Thursday. I experienced severe swollen glands for a day after treatment and now no sense of taste - very bland taste always in my mouth. I woke up in the middle of the night last night very dizzy. I got up to get a drink and

Can anyone advise if I'm heading in the right direction please?
Good afternoon (just) I was just wondering if anyone could confirm I'm heading in the right direction with these results please? (Attached) I'm hoping so. I've been taking 100mcg Levothyroxine and be advised to continue with the same dose. My previous results 6wks ago were TSH - 49.60 (0.3 - 5.6) Free

Stop and/or contain diarrhea!
Hi, All -- Just joined. We just returned from an agonizing (for me) wedding weekend. I suffered from diarrhea Friday-today and took Imodium every day -- sometimes several times. My bouts seem to be more unpredictable. I'm trying everything I know of (except pharmaceuticals.) We have a two-week trip

SGLT2 new treatment for CDK; anyone on them?
I was listen to a Dr. in a podcast regarding new treatment for CDK. Even though these sodium inhibitors are used for heart patience and diabetics, they are showing promising results for non-diabetics with CKD and proteinuria. "Despite optimal treatment with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system (RAAS

Newb question
Hi there, I'm new to this forum, and to the possibility of high blood pressure. Does anyone know the relationship between serum sodium and salt as a cause of high blood pressure? If sodium is measured in the normal range would that rule out salt as the cause of high blood pressure? I'm guessing it may

Should I supplement iodine?
Morning, I have hashimotos which I seem for the most past to keep the antibodies down. I'm very symptomatic for low thyroid function but still fighting to get some kind of help medication wise. I've got a goiter, or large cyst that's growing considerably fast. Probably about 3 to 4 cm in the last year

Went to see my Consultant Ophthalmologist today (great chap who sorted my floaters, which were the size of icebergs, a couple of years ago and said that I would need cataracts sorted sooner or later so elected to do them at the same time as the floaters and all on the NHS – perfect) as I have some discomfort

Interdependance of iron load and thyroid function
The interrelationship between iron load and thyroid function is pretty well accepted, but I post here a paper showing the effect in children (can extrapolate safely to adults I think). It underlines the need for good iron loading to help rule out or confirm hypothyroidism.
