hello, any advice would be nice.
well i have lupus. i've been tested on and off ... i get tested couple of days ago and my urine test for protein says i have 0.3g/L . so it's flagged as HI because it's not <0.3. my eGFR was 91 or 96 and now 79. i was taking extra whey protein so i've cut down on that. and cutting down on sodium

LVA Surgery - Unsuccessful...?
I have primary lymphedema in my right leg. It first presented itself 3 years ago in my late twenties. I'm in good physical shape, get lots of exercise, eat a healthy, low sodium diet, wear compression garments, and use a Flexitouch pump. As uncomfortable as my lymphedema is, I am able to manage it by

An ironic observation by the first synthesiser of thyroxine
Have been looking through some very old papers about thyroid and found one co-authored by Charles Harington, who was very much to the fore in efficient isolation of thyroxine from animal thyroid, and co-inventor of a method of synthesising thyroxine. The irony from today's perspective lies in this paragraph

Please help me understand my results - will this TSH level affect my fertility?
Hello all. I have been on Thyreogland - an NDT comprised of 100mcg t4 and 25mcg t3, for the last 2 years. Recently, the dosage I normally take was not in stock! So I have been taking 125mcg t4 and respectively more t3 (I don't know the exact amount), I realise this was a bit stupid given that I felt

BP is well down, but an increase in sodium drives it right back up. What to do?
Hello. Through weight loss/exercise/no caffeine/low sodium/medication (Lisinopril-HCTZ 20-25mg), my blood pressure has dropped from about 190/110 to about 100/65. Cutting back on my sodium intake has made a profound difference. I am a 55 year old male, I exercise daily and I hydrate well. Last weekend

Anyone eating Imodium like me?
Anyone eating Imodium like pez to get control of watery/oily bowel movements? I consume 4 to 6 daily and am never constipated. I’ve had a colonoscopy, dr says nothing wrong at that end. Let’s run more test that cost more money. I said no and started taking Imodium then.

Time to move on from xtandi? And Ra-223 before jevtana? Thoughts?
Hi everyone, My father just switched his MO ( due to insurance issues) he is currently on xtandi His bone scans are stable but his PSA is going up. (From 16 to 20 in a month) His new MO says we can be proactive and mentioned starting him on Radium 223 and possibly provenge before we move on to jevtana

Hi, does anyone have a view on the benefits or harm in consuming coconut oil and/or 100% MCT oil, both generally and with respect to NAFLD?

I have been diagnosed stage 2 CKD : potassium and sodium fine, but phosphorous raised, so my GP sent me for a liver scan , which the radiographer said he could see nothing on it to be worried about, but I am wondering why my doctor sent me for a liver scan and not a kidney one ? I haven't been

I've been MIA because of duress. I wrote about a week ago and want to thank everyone for their responses. I'm on overload and in an altered state since we are trying to once again customize my husband's pain management treatment. He's been on oxycontin and oxycodone along with gabapentin. We are in

NASH and how bad is this FibroScan? Guess my life just changed.
I found out about NASH after a year of chasing pain in my side, and generally feeling not normal at times. GP thought it was Pulmonary which was wrong by a mile. I am 53 active guy (Hockey, Hiking, Kayak, Ski) who has been over weight 255lbs with a BMI from 30-36 since my mid 20's. GP mentioned slightly

What is your preferred remedy for constipation? 🤔 🤔 🤔
I have suffered with the dreaded constipation almost all my life. I am currently prescribed Docusate Sodium capsules. Unfortunately they are not working any longer. I am suffering and don't know what to try next. I am on iron tablets, which I've been told do tend to make one a lil constipated anyway.

Alcoholic liver cirrhosis and kidney failure
Hi, I am new to this site. My husband (age 42) was admitted to the hospital in February, as his blood results showed a very high bilirubin count and high CRP. He was yellow and also he had a distended abdomen. However, a day later he was back at home with some antibiotics and laxatives. Since discharge

How little sodium/day is too low?
I am in the process of getting into shape -- primarily to lower my blood pressure. I am eating very carefully. I am consuming far less sodium than I used to, and I am walking 8-9 miles/every 24 hour period. I decided to tally up my actual sodium intake/day. It ranges from 278 mg/day to 638 mg/day, presuming
