CR Sinemet & Sleep
I’ve recently started controlled release
Sinemet
at night to reduce morning dystonia. I’m finding my sleep is disrupted - much less deep sleep according to my sleep tracker, and feel fatigued and flat in the morning. Has anyone else had similar problems? Many thanks Ben

I’m not taking any medication from beginning of January (I suspended
Sinemet

dystonia question
Sinemet
solved the problem for a few years. But eventually it started again but both feet would become dystonic.
Sinemet
increased, problem resolved! Now I only get dystonia in my left foot!

Miraculous Story of a person who underwent stem cell transplant in 1999
Later in 2001, he experienced increasing “off” time, and restarted
Sinemet
which caused an increase in “on” dyskinesias. His levodopa-induced dyskinesias continued to fluctuate and were severe at times.

Minimum of 70 mg Carbidopa daily???
My neurologist idem with
Sinemet
10/100 IR.
Sinemet
25/100 CR is prescribed only for the night. My daily carbidopa intake due to dose reduction is currently total only about 45 to 55 mg. Now I read in the patient information that “At least 70 mg to 100 mg of carbidopa per day should be provided”.

Switch to cheaper drugs leaves Parkinson’s patients suffering ‘devastating effects’
This happened after his branded medication
Sinemet
was changed to a cheaper form of the drug. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/parkinsons-drug-change-patients-uk-b2271858.html

A query about Sifrol,
I started
Sinemet
100/25 and within 2 weeks started feeling some improvement. However I wasn't able to tolerate the nausea / dizziness and was in bed all day. Finally in Dec, my neurologist changed me to Sifrol 0.18: 3 tablets per day which I could tolerate.

Requested help for further training of neurologist
There was no difference between
Sinemet
10/100 and 25/100 IR. It was about the amount of levodopa. The carbidopa was only added because of possible nausea and stomach upset. Well, then you are speechless, whatever language you speak.

Stopping Azilect to change to Macuna? I need help.
Dopaminergic agents: These drugs, including
Sinemet
-- a combination of levodopa and carbidopa -- increase the level of dopamine in the brain and may improve leg sensations in RLS.

Opicrapone
My (new) neurologist has suggested Opicrapone, which he says prevents spme protein from interferring with the usage of Dopamine, and therefore I should be able to decrease my
Sinemet
dosages. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, what was the outcome?

rytary
I’m taking
sinemet
now, 25/100 3 times a day. I haven’t started the rytary yet because it’s only a 5 day supply until it’s approved by my insurance. How do I switch to it from my other medicine and what should I expect? I’m 2 yrs into my diagnosis and I’m not really informed as I should be.

Fast acting Levodopa?
I recall that somebody had written about making a quick acting levodopa by grinding up a tab of
Sinemet
or dissolving it in carbonated water or.... ? My memory is bad on this because I had no need for it at the time.
