Sinemet

"if you need to take an extra sinemet thats ok, it may differ from day to day. Use the dispersible as required, just keep to a minimum, but if you need them, you need to take them". What does my PD Nurse mean by the above in quotations? not to boost the Sinement with Madopar Dispersible?

Have tried Sinemet but they made my tremour worse !! Doc has recommended trying Madopar (dissolvable ones) but a low dose once a day to start with as i struggle with mornings (don't we all?) Anyone have experience of this drug "cocktail" (and i know..............we're all different !!)

Some mornings my med wouldn't kick in til the 2nd or 3rd dose but the Dyskinesia was coming on also due to the sinemet.

I could not continue to work and was able to retire on disabilty My neurologist, whom I trust, prescribed generic Sinemet (25 mg carbidopa and levadopa 100 mg) 3x daily, plus Pramipexole, which was soon replaced by Azilect 1 mg once daily.

Then, when I started sinemet, my body odour returned to normal! One of the more trivial changes with PD, but i should be interested to know if anyone has had a similar experience.

I was on Sinemet 25/100 (1 1/2 tabs 4 x day). At my last visit I told my specialist that I didn't think the meds worked as I never have on/off times. I saw my specialist on Tuesday after being off my meds for 48 hrs. He is now not sure if I have Parkinsons or Parkinsonism. His plan an MRI.

I am currently taking Mirapex and Sinemet. I guess I am a bit overwhelmed, confused, and scared. Any suggestions as to where I go from here?

I think the Sinemet cured it, who knows? A few simple meditation practices and Buddhist principles helped me to develop some very basic mental habits that ameliorated negative ruminations.

It's in addition to Sinemet (2 tab 3x day).

I have never seen this in him so bad as he regularly takes Sinemet and things are so much better for him. The funny thing is he is a long distance LGV driver and can manage driving for long hours without any symptoms.

I've been thinking about starting Sinemet, but I'm really weary about the side effects. I know there is a possibility of dyskinesia, but what other side effects are there? How long before you start having side effects.
