He is on Sinemet 100/25 (IR) 4 times per day - no overnight slow release Sinemet. Could the leg weakness be caused by not enough sinemet? ( He also suffers from constipation, and I was reading that this can interfere with the absorbsion of the levadopa?) Advice welcomed! Thanks

was hoping someone could help my husband is very stiff is taking sinemet but didn’t seem to be helping the Parkinson’s nurse is trying him on madopar with sinemet as fast acting for moving him carers think has made him a bit less stiff but he is getting lots of facial movements and eyes are very sore

He began the switchover from Sinemet to methadone last week by having me add 2.5mg methadone (2.5 mg/day taken in evening) to my usual treatment doses of Sinemet. We’ve determined to take the titration of methadone very slowly and the reduction of Sinemet also very slowly.

To refresh, take 45 rytary at bedtime to hopefully give me a base to then add sinemet ir thru the day. It didn't go well. In fact, the rytary just made me feel awful in my head and gut so I aborted. I resumed the sinemet regiment of basically 1/2 and 3/4 doses with mixed results.

She takes Sinemet, but doc switched her to Ritari to see if it helped...it did not. shes back on sinemet ANy suggested other meds that may be better to treat this.? I heard about a nasal spray and was wondering if she just needs a boost of dopamine in the afternoons.

Has anyone tried crushing and giving Sinemet Plus via a feeding tube? I'm wondering if this might be easier than the Madopar

Can DAs like Sinemet cause restless arms when taken for restless legs and doesn't go away when the medication is stopped. Edit: Just want to say thanks for all the help and advice. Feeling a bit like a zombie at the moment as I'm just so tired. It's nice to know that people care.

He stopped the Sinemet and replaced it with Suboxone. While the Suboxone has controlled my RLS and allowed me to stop the Sinemet, I am experiencing a new symptom. If I had to guess, it would be peripheral neuropathy. It's a burning and tingling sensation in my lower legs.

I take Sinemet plus 25/100 tds what do you all do?

I am having panic attacks every evening and take 45mg of Remeron, 15 mg Buspar x3 plus 2 1/2 tablets of 25/100 Sinemet 6 times a day. My neuro is reducing the Sinemet and won’t do anything about the anxiety. I have a new Psychiatrist that won’t change anything either.

If post-DBS I am still taking up to 5 1/2 tablets of Sinemet, then what would be the point of DBS? And then how can my levodopa-induced dyskinesia be improved? Any advice would be appreciated! I'm just trying to understand.

I had PD for 12 years( I am 57 now ),and I was on Sinemet 100/25 mg 1.5 tabs for 3 times a day. Sinemet works really well for me, the morning dose kicks in within 10 minutes and lasts about 2.5 hrs. The next doses take longer to work, but still havre no problem to bring me to the “ON” time .

I had to stop using Sinemet because of the augmentation and now I am beginning to suffer the same with Mirapex. I am having occasional outbreaks of RLS in the afternoons and early evening . I cannot predict when this might occur. It is very frustrating. Any suggestions ?

I have been on sinemet for a year and am suffering from augmentation. Has anyone tried the peroneal stimulation device ?

Greetings to all, I don't know if it happens in your area too but here in Italy the new productions of Sinemet 100/25 no longer has the incision that allowed the tablet to be correctly divided in half.

I just changed drug regimen from just Sinemet to Sinemet plus Pramipexole. When I am out and about getting 2 pills out is a pain. I asked my Neuro if it was OK to stuff them in a gelcap. She said yes. Is anyone else doing this? Problems? Now to patent it and sell it for 1000 x the cost🤣😂
