Another failure?
Sinemet
was a dud, so I'm trying the timed release version. For the first two weeks I was to take a pill at 9:30 a.m. Yesterday I stepped up per instructions to one at 9:30 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. This morning when I woke up I thought I had gone completely bonkers.

Preparing for off times
I'm usually wearing off 1/2 -1 hr before
Sinemet
is due.. Just seen new neurologist and working on it but I'm almost up to my max in meds. I try not to watch the clock and meditate but would like to know what other people do,

Finding Joy in Parkinson's
Anyway, with the diagnosis and
Sinemet
, Louis is not jealous of other men. Now, Louis has had 2 very bad hallucinations, one of which scared me so much. He was put on Nuplazid and those have stopped. We are still battling PD on a daily basis - like all of you.

3 years on ... I fear my positivity ...
Lots of exercise - non-contact boxing, Nordic walking with poles, Irish set dancing, gym with a trainer - the introduction of
Sinemet
in November 2015, taken 3 times daily and the completion of the 5 volume "Does it hurt, Granny? and other stories".

Sinemet reactions
So I'm take
sinemet
at night with my melatonin and magnesium. Also take supplements since cardopa robs you of vit b.. Seems like
sinemet
is making things worse and my tremors when coming down off of
sinemet
. I'm thinking it's levadopa induced Distonia. Any oppions or experiences.

AZILECT
I take 5 x 25/100
Sinemet
Plus per day plus Pramipexole 0.18 mg 3 tablets 3 x per day. My symptoms can be very up and down for a few week's then settle down again. When I am told to take more
sinemet
I seem to feel worse and have to stop. I read somewhere that Azilect can help with walking.

Taper off Sinement prior to DaTsacan?
Has anyone heard of tapering off
Sinemet
(Carbidopa / Levodopa) prior to taking a DaTscan? I can’t find anything in the documentation that says this is necessary however I have conflicting information from 2 Neurologists one saying I need too the other that says it is not necessary.

Sinemet and Lexapro
Another wrinkle in the
sinemet
saga. Three months after my diagnosis and my starting on the
Sinemet
I started taking Lexapro, 10 milligrams a day. My PD presents with lots of anxiety and depression and pain and movement problems but not tremor.

Sinemet effectiveness
But reading my journal it took a long time for the
Sinemet
to really make a big difference. And it continued to get better until I was hiking again and biking 10 miles at a go, Etc. I'm glad I have this journal. It's fascinating to read.

Pallidotomy
So instead of that very new procedure, he underwent a pallidotomy, rarely done now, but not so new - dates back to pre-
Sinemet
, pre-DBS days.

Speech problems mainly
Husband has not been diagnosed yet (waiting on Neurologist appointment) but been given
Sinemet
3 times daily. His speech is the main problem which occurred when he was on Venaflaxine anti depressant and has continued when he was taken off cold turkey.

Neupro Patch, starting
Having no success with, alleviate symptoms (mainly tremor), with
sinemet
, amantadine , ropinirole I am moving to Neupro patch, 4mg, on Monday. My cost will be $350. I hope the cost is a reflection of its effective treatment for reducing my tremor.

Parkinsons / Parkinsonism ?
Our current GP is away until the New Year but the one at present is treating him for Parkinsons/ Parkinsonism and put him on
Sinemet
(12.5mg / 50mg) without a proper diagnosis. We are awaiting an appointment at the hospital for a Neurologist . We are hoping that this is all meds related.

Parkinsons / Parkinsonism ?
No appointment is forthcoming with the Neurologist at the hospital to clarify the situation and it seems that he is being prescribed
Sinemet
for a condition that hopefully he may not even have. Has anyone else been in this situation please and what harm can this drug do if he shouldn't need it ?
