Pramipexole to Sinemet to ?
I've previously posted that I had been using pramipexole (P) for over 30 years, had only learned about augmentation recently and was in the process of transitioning off P to Sinemet (S)(recommended by my PCP). The transition went very well, however, an allergic reaction to S (a rash developed) made

Allergic Reaction to Sinemet?
I posted previously that after being on Pramipexole for over 30 years, I, at the direction of my PCP, completed about 2 weeks ago a transition over an 8 week period from P to Sinemet (100 carbidopa-200 levodopa). The transition went smoothly and I am now on two tablets, one taken at 3 pm and a second

Stopping Azilect to change to Macuna? I need help.
Dopamine agonists worsen RLS over time (proven) and I believe in my case may have caused it. Finding this out has changed my opinion of Azilect. I was hopeful it might be Neuroprotective because of it being a Mao-B inhibitor but, it’s causing worsened RLS is the antithesis of Neuroprotective. (On a

Transitioning off pramapezole
I am 90 years old and have been on pramipexole for over 30 years. Although I was aware that the pramipexole was becoming less effective (I had gone from 0.25 mg/day to 1.0 mg/day over those 30 years), I had done almost no research on RLS and was unaware of augmentation. Then I discovered this website

A query about Sifrol,
Good day ladies & gentlemen, I was diagnosed with PD last Oct. and in Nov. I started Sinemet 100/25 and within 2 weeks started feeling some improvement. However I wasn't able to tolerate the nausea / dizziness and was in bed all day. Finally in Dec, my neurologist changed me to Sifrol 0.18: 3 tablets

Switch to cheaper drugs leaves Parkinson’s patients suffering ‘devastating effects’
Parkinson’s UK put out a warning when a 65-year-old man who had been successfully managing the condition for 17 years suddenly needed help eating and getting dressed. This happened after his branded medication Sinemet was changed to a cheaper form of the drug. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health

Requested help for further training of neurologist
My introduction to the new neurologist was rather disappointing. Apart from the fact that he did not even make any attempt to come across as somewhat understanding and social, this person again lacked constructive thinking about possible improvements to the PD and PN (peripheral neuropathy) situation

dystonia question
My symptom that started my PD journey was dystonia in my right foot after walking for 10 minutes. This eventually led toPD diagnosis. Sinemet solved the problem for a few years. But eventually it started again but both feet would become dystonic. Sinemet increased, problem resolved! Now I only get dystonia

Fast acting Levodopa?
I recall that somebody had written about making a quick acting levodopa by grinding up a tab of Sinemet or dissolving it in carbonated water or.... ? My memory is bad on this because I had no need for it at the time. My understanding is that levodopa needs to reach and be absorbed in the small intestine

rytary
my doctor just gave me these to try. I’m taking sinemet now, 25/100 3 times a day. I haven’t started the rytary yet because it’s only a 5 day supply until it’s approved by my insurance. How do I switch to it from my other medicine and what should I expect? I’m 2 yrs into my diagnosis and I’m not really

Opicrapone
Hello. My (new) neurologist has suggested Opicrapone, which he says prevents spme protein from interferring with the usage of Dopamine, and therefore I should be able to decrease my Sinemet dosages. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, what was the outcome? Were you able to decrease the C/L, and

Best approach to reducing Dyskinesia
I was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago. I'm currently taking 6 Stalevo 100mg each day at 6am, 8am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, and 6pm. I also take Resageline 1mg.Over the last 18 months I have seen an increase in Dyskinesia, mainly later in the day and usually worse as the meds wear off. My Neurologist suggests

Madopar CR v Rytary
Morning all. Just trying to get my head around the difference between these two? Also, Neurologist has me on Madopar CR during the night and immediate release during the day. I’m trying to work out what the purpose of immediate release is? Why not CR twice a day? Thanks guys 💊😀
