Meds not working well again
My PD husband and has been taking 4 or 5
sinemet
50/250
CR
for about a year and started using neuropro patch 2mg 6 months ago. He was on madopar for several years prior, but it was never right for him. Suddenly it seems his meds aren't working and the pd symptoms are severe again.

sudden horrible off periods
after nearly 30 years dealing with this awful disease, I’m experiencing horrible wearing off symptoms. I take my sinemet every 3 hours but now if I’m just 5 to 10 late, I completely shut down, having this feeling that I’m just going to die, it’s become very scary and I’ll take my meds and just wait

Back after a long time
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in quite some time, but I'm back because I need input from all the wonderful people on this platform. More than five years ago, my mom had a fall and was put on hospice care. They gave up on us too quickly, and she ended up with an NG tube down her throat for months

How do you grow mucuna pruriens?
I wanted to share a try I'm undertaking as an alternative to buying a jar of mucuna pruriens through Amazon, which by the way I never considered as a former Sinemet user. Instead, I've decided to grow the beans myself and witness their growth firsthand. It has no medical purpose for me since I no longer

Rethinking Parkinson’s Disease: could dopamine reduction therapy have clinical utility. (The article)
The replies in Michel0220's contribution regarding Jonathan Sackner Bernstein's theory on dopamine restriction naturally pertain to the video. However, I am missing the scientific basis for this. It can be found in JSB’s recent article in the Journal of Neurology. While it is somewhat understandable,

Rasagiline and Mucuna together?
My MDS is a huge fan of rasagiline and I’ve taken it for almost 3 years, and want to continue to take Mucuna and carbidopa as needed along with it. I've read that Mucuna should not be taken with rasagiline. Is there any truth to this? I’m not going to stop taking rasagiline, and I’d rather not start

Please could I ask what your thoughts are on Stem Cell Therapy?
My wife was diagnosed with PD in 2015. She was fine until summer 2021 when she had a fall in the garden and ended up in hospital for 3 weeks. She was then put on Sinemet Plus 25/100 mg. Since then her deterioration has been quite fast. Rigidity, stiffness, slow movement and exhaustion getting worse

My fresh experiment with raw mucuna
Today I experimented with different genre of seeds (velvet beans). I purchased it from herbs shop . It's very effective. Only three to four seeds have an effect equal to 100 mg levodopa tablet.Start taking effect within 15 minutes with a dose of 5 grams And seems that when I am "ON" with seeds, I feels

Entacapone causes diarrhea?
I’ve been taking Entacapone for exactly three months because of wearing off times about 45 minutes prior to next Sinemet dose. It has provided a modest improvement in my overall functioning. I’ve been taking it three times per day with 25/100 c/l. Aside from the yellow urine no side effects until ten

Can't believe I did this
I've had RLS for 15 plus years, mainly being treated with Sinemet (1 tab 25/100) over the years, with Ropinirole and more painfully, Pramipexole which caused severe augmentation a year ago. Three weeks ago, I had surgery for right anterior tibial tendon repair on my right ankle BECAUSE I stretched it

Levodopa only?
I was wondering if there are members of this forum who have been on large doses Levodopa - Madopar or Sinemet only - up to 1100 mg per 24h, for 5+ years.I would be grateful if you could comment on your present quality of life, and do you think that things could improve if other medications are added

Dear colleagues, I am a 71 years old male diagnosed with PD 2 years ago, with a suspicion that symptoms were there 2 years prior to that. Started with Sinemet for 10 days but could not tolerate it and, since then, I am on 6 tablets of Sifrol 0.18 per day (2/2/2). This dose of sifrol improved my general

Intermittent RLS: why carbidopa/levodopa????
Can anyone enlighten me as to why the Mayo Clinic suggests carbidopa/levodopa (sinemet) as prn therapy as opposed to ropinorole/pramipexole? I used to have persistent RLS (managed with ropinorole) which thankfully stopped after I stopped my SSRI. Now it’s intermittent and I can’t understand why I should
