Sinemet CR

Hello Friends, A quick question, is it ok to take Amantadine Ropark and Sinemet IR / CR together or in different combinations? If not, how much time should they be spaced from each other?

In February 2023, my neurologist put me on a high dose of Sinemet CR 50-200 (3 tabs daily). I had a moderate case of RLS. I trusted her and she worked for a prominent neurologist in my town.

I am only 3 years in and (I think) over medicated at Sinemet 1.5 tabs every 3 hours and a CR overnight. I try to extend to 4 hours but struggle with a bit of a crash with this gap. Thanks.

She also mentioned that she reduced her medication by one Sinemet 25/100 plus half a Sinemet 25/100 per day, now taking one Sinemet three times a day and one Sinemet 50/200 CR at bedtime.

Hi everyone, I’m having an odd experience with my sinemet and wondering if this is not uncommon or is it something else. I’m 68 and was diagnosed 15 years ago which is when I started taking the sinemet, 1 tablet every 4 hours round the clock.

Also wondering if anybody has had worsening sleep after starting sinemet; my motor symptom are minor compared to sleep/fatigue and wondering if I'd be better off without it. I take 25/100 3 x per day starting a few months ago.

took half of my evening dose of sinemet 2 hours early along with 200mg motrin for back pain. got to the gig, loaded in and sound check. 1 glass of red wine with lots of ice which I drank over the course of 3 hours. took the rest of my evening dose of sinemet and artane.

He is on Sinemet 100/25 (IR) 4 times per day - no overnight slow release Sinemet. Could the leg weakness be caused by not enough sinemet? ( He also suffers from constipation, and I was reading that this can interfere with the absorbsion of the levadopa?) Advice welcomed! Thanks

I’ve tried Sinemet, ropinirole, pramipexole (those dopamine agonists are torture), gabapentin, and pregabalin. An iron infusion a couple of years ago also helped some, but my iron numbers are too high to allow for another infusion. [u][/u] [u]Current RLS success: Neupro[/u] A friend (!!)

If post-DBS I am still taking up to 5 1/2 tablets of Sinemet, then what would be the point of DBS? And then how can my levodopa-induced dyskinesia be improved? Any advice would be appreciated! I'm just trying to understand.

The author had to stop during the same race to take his Sinemet, thereby missing a sub-4 hour finish time. By publication date he had completed 5 marathons, finishing times ranged from 4 hours to 5.5 hours.

And does anyone know if there could be interactions with Sinemet or pramipexole?

I took Sinemet for many years. Then about 4 years ago I weaned myself off. I did that after doing a lot of reading for years and I was no longer taking the bad drugs. I also had the DNA gene test and I know now what I cannot have. I have been doing pretty good.

The last med I tried was in January which was recommended by a neurologist was Sinemet, didn't realise it was a DA. I was only on it for a fortnight and my arm became so restless. It's took me over 4 week for my arm to settle down after I stopped taking it.

I take Sinemet plus 25/100 tds what do you all do?

And they just refused to believe that I take Sinemet as needed (within limits). oncein a while I would get a dr that would understand and he or she would go off to the to talk to the staff about it but nothing would change. And I know the staff is overworked and busy .

Hi, I’m on Sinemet (25/100 + 12.5/100) every 3 hours following neuro’s advice May last year. Also a CR 50/200 at night. I now suffer what I can only describe as feeling like my head is being squeezed, a kind of head rush, also down into my neck and upper body.

He began the switchover from Sinemet to methadone last week by having me add 2.5mg methadone (2.5 mg/day taken in evening) to my usual treatment doses of Sinemet. We’ve determined to take the titration of methadone very slowly and the reduction of Sinemet also very slowly.

Can DAs like Sinemet cause restless arms when taken for restless legs and doesn't go away when the medication is stopped. Edit: Just want to say thanks for all the help and advice. Feeling a bit like a zombie at the moment as I'm just so tired. It's nice to know that people care.
