Xadago and mucuna pruriens
My neurologist has prescribed me the MAOB inhibitor Xadago for the purpose of prolonging my ‘ON’ time on Sinemet Plus. I wonder if Xadago would work the same way with mucuna pruriens?

My visit to Dr. Costantini in Italy
Finding myself in Rome with an extra day to explore, I came upon a plan to make a visit to Viterbo, home of Dr. Costantini and the B1 treatment. This post will focus only on the trip logistics for anyone else planning a visit. First, what's not to like about Italy? Pasta, pizza and good red wine amongst

Sinemet, Mucuna Pruriens & positive experience with Ashwaghanda Root: Is the dosage of MP causing the problems: leg freezing etc.
I was diagnosed with Parkinsons age 63 1.5 yrs ago Rx Sinemex (carb/levo 25-100mg. 4 tabs a day). At first all was well; then a few months ago I started to have issues, especially deep fatigue 24/7 that was exhausting. I was so tired! Other problems as well. So I decided to try going with Mucuna Pruriens

Mucuna Pruriens
I am looking to hear from anyone who has been using the velvet bean as a source of naturally occurring source of dopamine. I was on Sinemet for about 4 years and developed dyskinesia and had to consider other options. After trying a few other medications that also came with almost immediate side effects

Rigidity getting worse in a period of two weeks
Hi, after a relative stable period, I have experienced now, an increasing rigidity (even almost cramps) a long my whole right site. (even in my jaw muscles). At most in the afternoon, about 15.00 - 16.00. Taking 3 times a day Sinemet 25/100 (morning , noon , 17.00) and still experimenting with Mucuna

Sleep study
Hi all! I just wanted to encourage anyone who has severe issues in the morning to get a sleep study done even if you don’t have sleepiness during the day. Swallowing problems
I’m new here. My husband was diagnosed with PD 2 years ago. Right arm tremor and sometimes right leg. Takes Sinemet. He is now having some problem with swallowing, uncomfortable digestion ( Gallbladder ruled out). Wondering if this is all part of PD?

Madopar vs Sinemet (& mucuna)
Neuro just put my husband on Madopar (one of the side effects being nausea...for some reason he didn't prescribe Sinemet) We were hoping to supplement with mucuna once his body gets used to the drug. My understanding is that mucuna needs the carbidopa in Sinemet to be able to cross the BBB. Does

Yet another question about mucuna pruriens
I have just started taking mucuna pruriens powder to bridge the ‘off’ periods between doses of Sinemet. Taking C/L 25/100 every 4 hours I am experiencing symptoms after 3 hours or so. My question is: Does high-protein food adversely affect the absorption of mucuna pruriens in the same way as it does

5-HTP in patients not taking Sinemet can worsen symptoms of PD
According to The Clinician's Handbook of Natural Medicine 5-Hydroxy-l-tryptophan (5-HTP) is beneficial only if used in combination with the drug Sinemet (a combination of l-dopa and decarboxylase inhibitor carbidopa). Brain serotonin is decreased in PD, but reduction in dopamine receptors is more severe

Insomnia and Sinemet
Have been taking
sinemet
cr
at 11pm for a while as I felt that I needed some PD meds during the night. However it never seems to do anything. I have therefore tried adding a
sinemet
plus at bedtime and taken the
sinemet
cr
out altogether. I also use madopar dispersible as and when.
