Simvastatin - pros/cons?
Up until a year ago I took Simvastatin each day...When my husband's mother was mistakenly prescribed double the dosage she should have had...and lost her ability to walk and lost her ability to communicate and comprehend. I was devastating, After 8 months she is doing much better...glad we didn't lose

Medication side effect?
I have developed a horrible taste in mouth and can smell a horrid smell. It isn't a dental problem as I've only just been given a clean bill of dental health. I'm wondering if it be down to medication. I'm on flecanide bisoprolol simvastatin calcium tablets alandronic acid and I use a modest amount of

Apixaban side effects
Hi all, I have been taking Apixaban for a couple of months now, as well as Zemtard and Simvastatin. I was taking Warfarin since a heart attack 2 years ago, but as I found it difficult to get to the surgery for INR during opening hours my Doctor offered me Apixaban which I am grateful for. FLU JAB AND STATINS
Hi was reading the other day where it said that if you are taking cholesterol lowering lowering medication like Simvastatin, it lowers the defences of the flu injection. Interesting , just about everyone with COPD has the flu injection, and I bet a big percentage of them also take statins !! Neo

Ezetimibe?
Anybody have any thoughts on this alternative to a statin? So far, after doing a little research, it seems even worse than the statin? Narrows the arteries, interacts badly with statins if the two are taken together. Seems to have a negative impact on the liver. BTW, it has the same stuff they use in

Simvastatin and pred
Piglette you mentioned that simvastin and pred are an ill advised combination. Is there another statin that could be taken. My Rheumy advised me to go back on simvastatin because my cholesterol is 7.8. I had started taking plant sterols to reduce it but she said they don't really work. Any advice would

Can anyone help got some blood results but struggling to get any help!
Hi, I saw a locum doctor at my GP practice (over year and half ago) who diagnosed under-active thyroid as I had 3 blood tests which were under the lower level slightly. Since then I have had to argue to get blood test and asked for full thyroid test but given me the results just for TSH, she also did

Having strong muscular pain and weakness primarily in legs and hips.
Went to see my MD on July 29, 2015 after suffering for about 2 weeks with increasing muscular pains and weakness in legs. He stated because the muscles involved were large that it might be a reaction to taking Simvastatin. I have been taking it for about 8 years and never had a problem before.

Recovering from Heart Attack
I am a 56 years old male who had two heart attacks in January. I had a double stent put in and I am yaking blood thinning medication as well as simvastatin.
