Asthma or not?
I was diagnosed with viral asthma on 10 September and I’m on the blue (since 10 September) and brown inhaler (since 14 September). I couldn’t get an asthma nurse’s appointment till a couple of days ago. She took a history, did a spirometry test (ok), watched my inhaler technique (good), told me my chest

THINGS I WISH I KNEW!
That you can have great lung capacity when healthy but still have really
severe
asthma
. That how your chest sounds sometimes tells you little about the severity of your asthma flare. After all this time and many hospitalizations, I still don’t have an action plan.

So today when I went for a follow up app with my resp Dr he told me that I have
severe
allergic
asthma
/brittle asthma and that he is going to refer me to an asthma specialist with a view to have xolair injections but in the meantime putting me on a maintenance dose of pred to see if it helps.

Anything else besides asthma?
When I get sick, I seem to breathe better. I was told by my allergist I have moderate asthma and lung restriction disease. I also had a high allergic reaction to dust. But the pulmonologist saw my pulmonary function tests and CT scan and said my lungs were clear. He said if anything I had mild asthm

Is this a CVA attack that lasts so long?! Doubting myself...
I am really confused about what is currently happening to me - is this really an asthma attack, as it is lasting so long? After serious steroids and 3 days and 4 nights, I am still coughing away! HISTORY I started coughing quite a bit about a week and a half ago. I initially thought it was a cold coming

Singing and Severe Asthma (and other lung conditions)
I am an experienced singer although my voice is not the same since I contracted
severe
asthma
🤦♀️ but I just love, love, love singing. I really need someone who can play a musical instrument, for example, keyboard, guitar and can donate their time for free at the beginning.

Unauthorised procedure question
Hi folks, I'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment and decided to see what others feel about this. I'm in the UK if that helps. The short of it is: If you went into hospital for planned surgery and awoke to find that an additional procedure had been carried out without your authorisation, would

Paid asthma research
Are you a parent of a child living with asthma aged between 8-18 years of age? Would you and/ or your child like to take part in a paid, confidential interview? The asthma team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and researchers at Aston University are conducting research to explore how families feel

Sheffield Severe Asthma Service
I am now under Sheffield
Severe
Asthma
Service seeing Prof Sabroe and Ros. I am on a Pulmicort 400 one puff twice a day. And blue inhaler every hour when displaying breathlessness. It was great to see a doctor and nurse who believed I was asthmatic even though I have never wheezed.

General anaesthetics for gallbladder removal and asthma.
I am on the active waiting list to have my gallbladder removed. I have a large stone which is giving me a fair amount of discomfort. I also suffer from reflux which I understand can aggravate asthma. I have had asthma for approx. 45 years and the only time I needed Ventolin was approx. once per year

What to do? 🤔
I have
severe
asthma
and have already upped my pred to 40mg. I don’t think it’s a bacterial infection (usually feels different) so probs won’t get antibiotics, and I’m already on the max amount of drugs the GP can give and I have a home neb if needed.

What are your experiences with the Neupro patch?

Title: Neupro patch reactions
I have posted only a few times here, because of a combination of medical conditions such as lifetime
asthma
, which has only recently been relieved. I've had
severe
RLS for the past few years, and enjoyed some relief with Mirapex.
