Defining well controlled asthma
Hi all. I’ve looked around online as to what well controlled asthma is because that’s what we’re supposed to be aiming for, right? Here’s the gist of what I’ve found:- • Few to no symptoms day or night • Perform daily activities without symptoms • Sleeping well • Normal (for you

Nasal Polyps from asthma
I'm wondering if anyone else who has asthma also suffers from nasal polyps. I'm on a corticosteroid inhaler for my asthma and corticosteroid nose spray for my nasal polyps, they seem worse in the winter, sometimes completely blocking my nasal passages. If anyone else suffers from these have you found

Does my dad need a blue inhaler?
Hi, just looking for a bit of info I am a bit concerned about my dad he is in his 70’s and a bit complacent when it comes to health. He has asthma (though he is not sure if it’s asthma or chronic bronchitis) was diagnosed in his 40’s. I remember he used to have a brown inhaler and a blue one, but

asthma cough
I’d love it if anyone has any tips for calming an asthma cough without resorting to steroid tablets. It’s only just over a month since my last lot and I’d really like to try and avoid them if possible. It’s driving me and everyone else mad!

Asthma attack - school says no more rowing
My 14-year-old son had a serious asthma attack post-exercise in school. Paramedics were called and he recovered after receiving nebulizer treatment. Now, he has been told he no longer will be allowed to have a seat in his rowing team, alternatively he is allowed to cox. He is devastated. I am trying

Can asthma cause muscle aches?
We live in quite a hilly area that is also bad for my asthma, and I often find my legs ache badly when I'm walking uphill. (It's the feeling you get when you exercise and push yourself a bit further than normal only it happens on normal walks) We've just come back from a week's holiday where I didn't

Is there anyone among you who has been treated for asthma without using steroid inhaler?
Hello Everyone! I have asthma and I’m using medications for 2 years now. But I’m seeing a lot of side effects and I really want to quit my streoid inhaler. Is anyone here treating their asthma without a steroid inhaler? Thank you in advance :)

Adrenal insufficiency
Has anybody who has had adrenal insufficiency caused by their steroid-based asthma inhaler managed to reverse the adrenal insufficiency AND remain on a steroid-based asthma inhaler? Or reversed the adrenal insufficiency by moving to a non-steroidal asthma management? If the latter, did you change to

Asthma and PIP
Hi everyone. I wonder if you can help. I am part way through completing my PIP application for Asthma COPD overlap. I was diagnosed in December 2023. Today I visited nurse for asthma/COPD review and was told that they are now putting my diagnosis as asthma as they have been advised by Respiratory Consultant

Asthma
Hi, After tests etc the doctors have decided I have asthma, not copd. I have been given an inhaler but I still cough a lot at night. Can I ask how long it takes for the medication to really take effect? Have been on it since last Thursday.

Asthma getting worse as spring allergies increase
I was recently given a new inhaler to take along with Dulera,Ventolin, and singular - it is called Inspiolto Respimat.I was wondering if that means my asthma is getting worse? The new puffer is for COPD, but I don't have that.

I had seasonal asthma, but it went away when I began drinking green tea mixed with lemon, honey, and ginger. Now my 14 old grandson has it and I keep reading conflicting advice on what he should and should not eat. I would like to feed him grits and I won’t to know if it will tricker his asthma?

Has anyone stopped taking medication after symptoms of Allergic Asthma decreased?
Hello, I have been struggling with allergic asthma for a while and I started to see the side effects of the medications I take. Are there any things you have ever done that caused your asthma to decreased? I would be very happy if you can share with me your tips :)

Does regular exercise really give you an advantage if you have an asthma attack?
If you are fit/do cardiovascular exercise and strength training regularly are you better able to tolerate and survive an asthma attack than someone who doesn’t exercise? Experts might say yes to promote exercise but to what extent do you think it really helps?

Eczema
I am wondering how many people with asthma also see a dermatologist for skin problems. I have bad episodes with eczema inside my ears, and on my legs and arms. Now that summer is coming, I would really love for this to clear up. I notice when my asthma is acting up, I get more breakouts. There must be
