Is flour a trigger?
Hi everyone! I'm seriously thinking about starting a small food business that involves a lot of baking. Has anyone found that they have a reaction to flour? I have never really thought about flour being a trigger, but I've read a bit about occupational asthma. I don't want to start something that could

Feeling Dead Grumpy!
After 12 months with no incidents and managing to reduce my Seretide dose I have been struck down with the worst asthma attacks I have ever had. For the first time in 6 years I was genuinely scared I was not going to get my breathing under control and could not stop coughing long enough to use my inhalers

No Voice is it Fostair?
Hello Peeps I have recently changed to fostair and another to help the old lungs. I did lose my voice a little on the old seretide but I am losing it nearly every day for some hours or a good part of the day? It does seem to be irritating the throat around the point of my old trachea scar? From my dark

Is asthma a disability
Hello I was diagnosed with asthma 5 years ago at the age of 35. It took a couple of years before the correct treatment was given, after being hospitalized 2 times. I was also diagnosed with early state Bronchiectasis, given a leaflet on it and that was it. Up until a year ago, I had been fine, I was

Keeping my asthma under control
I have had asthma for more than 30 years and have never had as many asthma flair ups as I have this last year. Loads of antibiotics. Steroids and been changed to a fostair inhaler. I have had another chest infection since the 12th December last year and still have one. I have been given the opportunity

FostairNexthaler
Hi everyone, Happy New Year After my recent bad time with my cough, the doctor changed me from Seretide to Fostair Nexthaler. Has any one had really bad aching joints with Fostair? Seems to be my back and hips that are worse. It may be a co-incidence but thought I would ask. I have had some leg tremors

How do I cure ongoing chest infections?
Hi there, I have had asthma since I was three years old and my biggest problem is chest infections. These happen in winter mainly, seasonally, and I'd say on a bad year I can have up to 5 or 6 chest infections/upper respiratory infections a year, though these have worsened in recent years. It normally

Asthma and phlegm
Hi. I am a 58yr old female who has been asthmatic since babyhood. In the last 10 years or so I have produced a lot of thick beige coloured phlegm and seem worse when the weather is damp. In October I spent 5 days at Centerparcs and felt really well! Hardly coughed at all despite cycling and climbing.

Dampness and asthma
As the weather where I live has got wet again this afternoon it's made my airways inflammation. So my chest is sore apart from using ventolin which will keep my peak flow up. I have seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day,Monkelaust, anti histamine. Waiting to see if asthma nurse will prescribe a steroid

"Seretide" substitute
Hi, this is my first post: I have received a letter from my surgery saying that they will be substituting my "Seretide" inhaler, for one called "Sirdupla". The surgery states this not for clinical reasons, but simply on the basis of cost. therefore I'm asking. A: Is it as effective as "Seretide" B:

Please listen to patients!
I need to vent! It's so frustrating knowing what you need but nobody listening to you. I understand you're a nurse practitioner and you've had how many patients walk in with asthma symptoms but I am not your usual asthma case. I have very severe, brittle, difficult asthma. I am on Step 4 therapy according

I am now on Amxicillin (antibiotic

Fostair and coughing
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've had mild asthma from childhood, characterised by repeated bronchial infections which have diminished with age. Some years ago I was prescribed "Seretide" which had the strange effect of changing my "wheezing" to coughing. I didn't take too much notice at the time. More

Improved medication - what a change!
Three weeks ago I thought I might be heading for the exit; today I cheerfully swept up the leaves and bagged them - at 4C! How come? Changed and much better medication. And since this may help others, here goes... I have had infection events continuously for several months. Becoming both concerned and
