Hoarse voice and can't sing.
Hi all, I am so devastated, I have been singing in a choir for the last 5 years, I was diagnosed with Emphysema in 2009 but I know I have had it for 21 years and that's when I gave up smoking. Up to about 4 months ago I was coping with it ok when my breathing got worse and I had gone into stage 2, since

How quickly did your symptoms progress?
Hi, I am sure this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find it on the site. I am not necessarily concerned about how quickly I will progress from here but I was wondering how quickly did people go from no symptoms, or relatively few, to constantly need inhalers? I have gone from bringing

Asthma not behaving
I started my new spring/summer routine this Monday. Taking myself off as agreed with my new asthma nurse stepping down to Flixoide 250 one puff a day from Seretide 250 twice a day. Last year I was fine on this routine but on Monday night the cough started so I reach for my Ventolin two puffs. Then yesterday

Change of medication
Yesterday I picked up my prescription from the chemist and guess what, my meds had been changed yet again. Managed to get in to see the doctor and ask why they keep changing it without consulting me, this even though I have explained to them on other occasions when it has happened that prescribing alternitives

Bit more positive
I saw a different doctor today and I have a new inhaler to try - Seretide twice a day. I also have a rescue pack. It seems I am already under a consultant. All the surgeries in the area are directed by three specialists because of the prevalence of lung disease in the area! I live in Dartford really

Hi everyone Just wanted to write a post to share my experiences as its great to read everyones posts and realise that I'm not alone in suffering with asthma and the lonely feeling that can give you as everyone else seems to go on enjoying life whilst we suffer silently. Lung scarring help :(
Hi everyone :) I'm waiting for good/bad news and naturally, very stressed. The story started about 10 months ago, I got bronchitis then puemonia, then bronchitis again. It never seemed to go really. I went to see a specialist, who was very thorough. all my tests comas back surprisingly normal. My

Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis?
Hi there. Recently and quite suddenly I started experiencing asthma like symptoms (breathlessness) but without wheezing, for 4 months now, but I've never had asthma before until recently and I'm 37. I've noticed that I've become super sentitive to places where there is aircon such as in the car, in the

Seretide - muscle cramps, husky voice
Hi all, I'm new here. I found this site by googling "Seretide muscle cramps". After two or three years of inhaling Seretide 250/25 twice a day it has finally occurred to me it may be causing my awful leg and foot cramps at night. I am also much huskier than I used to be (frustrating for a singer) and

Seretide
I have been on Seretide for eight weeks now, the last four days or so I have felt terrible, can't really pinpoint it, not really sick or anything but exhausted and achy, all I want to do is sleep, is that a side effect? Help. I'm not due to see the doctor for another two weeks, she wants me to do another

Changed from Seretide to Symbicort
Since changing to Symbicort I have slept much better at night without noisy wheezing and I have coughed up more phlegm. But I cough much more during the day which I never did whilst on Seretide and seem to get breathless more quickly. I wondering if this is a common effect.

Relvar
Seem to have been worse since replacing Seretide with Relvar. Had it for three months now and wheeze very noisy. Now taking azithromycin three times weekly and hoping the long term antibiotic will help. Got it for six weeks.

Delayed action or change of inhaler?
25 days ago I posted a photo of my dog Midge, on a drip, taken outside the vets surgery in my campervan, where she was very ill with pancreatitis. I was feeling pretty rough myself with a COPD flare-up. I thought Midge wasn't going to make it, but as this photo shows, she was determined to get back home

Hello, I'm new here, this is a very good forum so I thought I would write my story.
I have been researching the connections between dehydration, gerd and asthma/copd. What came first? I think with me it was dehydration causing gerd and gerd causing copd. But is it asthma or emphysema or something else? that is the question, yes I was a smoker so naturally I was told I had emphysema

Spiriva
Hi everyone I was put on Spiriva last September as an add on to Seretide 250 for asthma as my asthma isn't very controlled, I was wondering if anyone else has been put onto it and what effect it's had on other people, as all it seems to do is make me cough and wheeze all day every day and make my throat

Asthma inhalers & Cramp
Odd question, but if you have to take a lot of your inhalers maybe because of some trigger etc, do any of you suffer from bad muscle cramps? Past two months (three if I include the first cold in December before the second one mugged me on New Year's day) I've had to take more inhalers that normal to

Can I avoid infection?
Hi everyone. On Saturday I was outside for quite a while when it was freezing and snowing. Since then my chest has got a bit bad - heavy and some (clear) phlegm. The last time this happened, I couldn't get rid of the inflammation so ended up on antibiotics. Is there anything I can do to avoid that?
