I am back on Budesonide and Atrovent nebs, I can take them up to 3 times a day..How often do you take them? I have seretide 250 two puffs twice a day as well as Ventolin if needed..
That is a lovely winters picture. Hope it doesn't freeze your lungs too?🤔 My breathing better since I gave up the cheese! I'm also trying out Butecko at long last, but I lack discipline! Still awaiting a specialist appointment over oxygen at home. Breath well and enjoy the sunlight.... Gx
It has been awfully cold for nearly a month but today back to 5 degrees and of course it is raining cats and dogs. Glad you are improving! Thank you for your kindness.
Hi Fran- is it a bit of a set back being on nebulisers again? I thought that would be part and parcel of your usual regime given how poorly your lungs are Hope you're keeping well, Sandra xx (Lovely photo btw!)
no I am ok most of the time with my bunch of inhalers except when I feel something coming I start on my nebs. I was sent to the local pulmonary league office and they gave me a new nebuliser, Philipps respiromatics..so that's good. I think the anti pneumonia vaccination must have made a difference this winter because honestly it has been freezing. If I catch something then I am out for weeks. Prevention is the key!! So I started on Friday evening, I hate them they burn my throat and affect my eyes I have to keep on rinsing but it works..
Thank you for your kind words. Don't they sting your throat?, I hate them but they do the trick. I take a spoonful of honey to coat my throat honestly it helps
I am on 1mg Budesinide nebs twice a day, and the smart regime (upto 12, but regularly on 6 puffs a day , for the Duo Resprimat (similar to Symbicort). I also have ventolin when needed, but does not do much for me now. Also Spiriva. I have not had Atravemt nebs unless in hospital.
Hi Anne..You have a lot on your plate..the mixture of Atrovent and Budesonide is good actually it gives you a boost..Same here Ventolin doesn't seem to do much for me anymore, got tolerant I think.
The Community Respiratory Team nurse came to see me today. I am running a temperature (so, there is part of me that can still run hey? Ha ha). and I am definitely growing nasty bubs in my lungs. Could be my Pseudomonus or Klebsiella regrowing, so have to wait for the results. Taking the general respiratory antibiotic Doxycycline at the moment. Co-moxiclav (Augmentin) gives me Thrush. Ever since I can remember Amoxicyllin has given me Thrush. So, continue on the steroids, until she has spoken to Microbiology Friday or Monday. Keep doing my Active Cycle of Breathing and drinking water, to help move the bugs off my chest.
I was put on the waiting list for Immunology in October, but have not heard anything, so rang Addenbrookes Hospital, eventually got the number for Immunology, but no answer, too busy I think. I will try again tomorrow.
I was reading your messages. Professor Cottin does sound very good.
Sorry to read you are poorly. Good to see you had a nurse visit. Yes he is very good. In England the specialist team is in Nottingham if you have a chance.
I haven't had to do that for a while. But I think it also depends on if you think things are settling down and you are feeling a bit better. If you have a few days where things are improving I guess that you can cut the dosage, if it gets worse then you have to step it up.
Thanks Risabel..no I take them when I feel I can't breathe and my peakflow is around 280..usually for 48h until I pick up again, I find it better than using pred..I mean for my body but pred is more effective. Take care Risabel xx
