What side effects do people experience with sodium valproate?
It's been suggested I change my medication from Keppra to sodium valproate because I am experiencing too many side effects. I was just wondering what other peoples experiences were with sodium valproate.

anyone else experience this? I've noticed over the past few years that I'm having more and more episodes where something that wouldn't normally get me angry, gets me angry and there are triggers that bring a red mist and I can lose it completely. How do you deal with it, I'm know what triggers me most

Keppra side effects- does reducing the dose cause seizures?
Hi, I have been on Keppra 1000mg bd for the last 3 years which hasnt changed my grand mal seizure frequency, only the absence seizures. I developed side effects which I have ignored as I was too scared of another seizure to risk reducing it back down to 750mg bd. Depression and anxiety, mood changes,

Newly diagnosed with generalized seizures
I was just recently diagnosed with epilepsy, I had my First tonic clonic seizure at the end of May. I recently had an EEG done and my doctor diagnosed me with generalized seizures. Over the past year I’ve had a mixture of absence and myoclonic seizures. During the eeg I felt my left arm and leg twitching

Spasms / mini seizures
Hi everyone, My mum is in the later stages of PSP, not able to walk, speech is minimal and her liquid intake is all by PEG and some solid food. Epilepsy medication for child
Hello, I have a daughter 4.5 yrs old and she has had 3 incidents, two tonic clonic lasting more than 5 mins in Sep '18 and May '20 and a partial focal in March '19. She had an EEG and MRI in '18. EEG showed epileptic activity, whilst the MRI was clear. Recently, the NHS doctors recommended 20mg Keppra

Same brand of medication
Make sure you stick to the same brand. I've been on Keppra brand for approx 10 yrs. Felt great with no side effects. Recently the pharmacist couldn't get the Keppra brand so ended up with a different one. This resulted in having all the nasty side effects and more seizures. On checking further found

Epilepsy Meds and non NSAIDS with NAFLD
Hi there! I'm a newbie with a couple questions. Does anyone know which epilepsy meds aren't as hard on the liver? I'm currently on Keppra and Topamax. Also, I have ehlers danlos, so chronic pain is a serious issue. I've developed asthma and an allergy to NSAIDS. Does anyone have recommendations for pain

Can't seem to stop constant underarm odor
Hello, My wife has had PD for around four years. This strong underarm odor always returns in 1-2 days after a good cleaning. The anti-perspirant deodorants make no difference at all, because she very seldom, if ever, perspires/sweats. I've started using my Brut deodorant on her but that was no help either

Daughter had sensory seizure yesterday
My daughter had her first daytime seizure. It was a bad smell accompanied eventually by headaches, twitching eyes, and tingling face. Our doctor is increasing the keppra to 4 mL twice a day. We're also going to try melatonin to get her sleep more on track. She sleeps so much now that she is missing school
