Selenium and thyroid
Do you recommend I start taking extra selenium and what dose? I already take 200mcg in my normal multivitamin. I read that it’s supposed to help with Hashimotos. I have Hashimotos and Dr only told me to take levothtroxine (Euthyrox 0,05mg) daily for now, which I’ve been taking since April this year but

Myo-inostiol and Selenium for Hashimoto's (2017)
Interesting read: Myo-inostiol and Selenium for Hashimoto's (2017) You might already know that selenium can be very helpful for Hashimoto’s. It’s an antioxidant that supports the production of glutathione. Selenium is helpful in reducing anti TPO antibodies. This study compared patients using selenium

I'm looking for advice for a doc appointment first thing on Tuesday.
Where to start? This may become rambling so head out and make yourself a cuppa before you commit. OK, I was feeling rough (rougher than normal) back in April, got a thyroid test to see what my levels were, TSH below range, T4 mid range, T3 below range. I came here and we chatted and decided that I needed

Testing after change in dose
Hello, I upped from a daily 100mcg dose to alternate days of 100mcg and 125mcg 10 weeks ago. I keep meaning to book a blood test and will call the Dr on Monday. The change in dose was prompted by an inability to lose weight. The change in dose hasn't helped with this yet... Anyway, my question is do

Any Supplements Help With Hashimoto's?
Somehow I got it in my head last night that Selenium would be helpful for my Hashimoto's (and ordered some) but the internet is not giving me the same answer today. Today it says don't take it :(

Timing of vitamins
This was an interesting article. I began taking Vitamin D3 and co-factors after joining this site, as well as a B complex and C. After reading this article I changed my pill box around a little, moving the Vitamin C to bedtime. I had no idea it would prevent absorption of Vitamin B12. I knew about

Help pls? So, SO tired and other things... am I under or over-medicated do you think?
Hallo all I posted these results below recently as was baffled at how 'good' they are. My health seems to be fluctuating but the most problematic thing I have now is fatigue (again). I struggle to fall asleep (this is quite new for me) and really struggle to be up in the morning. Once asleep I'm best

4.5 weeks in - symptoms improving
36 y/o male, I was recently diagnosed with “sub-clinical” hypothyroidism - with a TSH of around the 5.0 mark but with debilitating symptoms that had plagued me for over three years. The most noticeable symptoms were: - Depression - Difficulty maintaining weight despite regular exercise, weight training

Positive steps to better educate medical students about thyroid conditions
Yesterday I took part in an online meeting with medical students from Hull/ York University (following a request for thyroid volunteers posted on the forum in May). I spoke via Teams with 6 medical students, supported by a medical Fellow, who was their tutor. It was a great experience for all and I

Is selenium testing worth it?
Hi all, I am considering buying a selenium test because selenium apparently has various benefits for thyroid health. The test is very expensive so I'm curious if anyone else has experience of the test or any insight into their value? I have eaten brazil nuts for years so I want to be sure I don't already

Foods that kill Prostate Cancer Cells
Made this list years ago. Best to keep them in mind when grocery shopping or cooking. Walnuts, have to eat a ton. Hot peppers, watch out for too much it can cause stomach cancer. Tomatoes, V8 juice Gac juice, other lycopene sources. Catsup. Watermelon, also a lycopene source but no cooking involved.

Selenium
Hi, can anyone tell me if taking Selenium will affect levo absorption or should I take it 4 hours apart? Finding it very difficult to fit all these vitamins in lol, especially as it says to take selenium on an empty stomach! Thanks.
