Selenium, broccoli (sprouts)
Hi all, I posted earlier about juicing. Our hospice intake nurse told me that carrot juice is the best. Then she added that broccoli would also be good for my dad. Broccoli sprouts would be even better. I did not ask her where I could get broccoli sprouts, because she said that if I get Selenium, then

News that worried us and studies that gave us hope (04/2022).
This is the information that gave us hope while my father was alive and has given hope to many since then (March 2012). 1. News that worried us. In the coming decades the number of Parkinson's disease patients is feared to increase very worryingly, to double by 2030 (Dorsey 2007) and even to triple

What nutrient tests would you recommend please?
In a previous post I mentioned my dad was due a call from GP to discuss his Dec nutrients and thyroid TFTs. It was the usual wait and see approach and test annually for his thyroid but she suggested he continues to supplement iron to try to address his overall levels, particularly his ferritin which

Quick question: magnesium zinc & selenium
Hey All I've been ferreting around online to see if there is any reason NOT to take magnesium, zinc and selenium together. I've seen some things saying magnesium and zinc actually complement each other and are good taken together but can't seem to find anything about the selenium. Does anyone know if

The end of Parkinson's as we know it today. From the Levodopa era to the "transformative" information era.

The changes over time in the way the disease is viewed, the possible treatments and everything that makes up the world of Parkinson's (multinationals, neurologists, associations

100-150mcg of T3 but STILL COLD AND TIRED
Hello I am a 31 year old female. I have SELF DIAGNOSED as hypothyroid (normal TSH, LOW free T3, normal(ish) free T4). I had an eating disorder for 20 years and this can disrupt the HPA axis making TSH and T4 normal but T3 low due to conversion problem. I KNOW the dangers of self-medicating but I was

Blood test help
Hi I wonder if you'd mind raising any problems with my bloods please. I recently saw an endocrinologist for my chronic insomnia, which I believe is caused by my low cotisol/low DHEA. I am always struggling with low ferritin, and even more now I've gone off liver and liver pate. I am trying to eat

Another disappointing endocrinologist - Cornwall
I know I am unable to discuss individual Doctors here, but thought it might help others to mention what happened at my NHS endo meeting. I saw a female endo via the NHS yesterday, who is based in Truro, Cornwall and off Thyroid UKs list of Endos who (amongst other things) may help with low DHEA (my

Internal Tremors
I've been sitting here reading both questions and answers and find this absolutely intriguing. I frequently awaken early morning with tremors at the top of my chest/base of my neck. It's very disturbing, mostly because I don't know what causes it and I can't tell the difference between the tremors
