Super-potent human antibodies protect against COVID-19 in animal tests.
A team led by Scripps Research has discovered antibodies in the blood of recovered COVID-19 patients that provide powerful protection against
SARS
-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes the disease, when tested in animals and human cell cultures.

SARS-CoV-2 mutations do not appear to increase transmissibility.
The findings build on a peer-reviewed study published in Infection, Genetics and Evolution earlier this month that characterised patterns of diversity emerging in the genome of

COVID-19 Immunity Research as of May 21, 2020
Control of
SARS
-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) will largely depend on having the majority of the population immune, either through infection or vaccination.

Has anyone experience of Ospemifene
Hi I am interested to hear of anyones experience of taking the oral tablet Ospemifene and does it help with atrophy. Is it available in the UK? I am unable to use vagifem and estriol; the discharge burns and causes so much discomfort. I am due to see a pelvic floor dermatologist in a couple of days

The Flu Vaccine, Inflammatory Arthritis, and COVID-19: What You Need to Know
COVID-19 is caused by
SARS
-CoV-2 and flu is caused by different strains of influenza viruses. Similarly, getting the flu shot will not give you the flu, says Dr. Curtis.

Besides avoiding infection with
SARS
-2 CoV, I’m determined to remove the additional complication of my two co-morbitities: Obesity and Hypertension. Intimately, I want to reduce to a weight consistent with a Body Mass Index if less than 23.

Coronavirus May Be a Blood Vessel Disease too
The additional protein the original
SARS
virus requires is only present in lung tissue, but the protein for
SARS
-CoV-2 to activate is present in all cells, especially endothelial cells.

Outcomes of COVID-19 in Patients with CLL: A Multicenter, International Experience
Future epidemiologic studies are needed to assess
SARS
-CoV-2 infection risk, these data should be validated independently, and randomized studies of BTKi in COVID-19 are needed to provide definitive evidence of benefit. Jackie PS. Photo is of two of our litter of puppies.

COVID-19 pandemic - let’s not forget surfaces. Edited with another UK source.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (
SARS
-CoV-2), responsible for the current pandemic, is spread by droplet transmission and is not thought to be airborne. In indoor environments, there is growing concern over how the virus can circulate within a space.

Exploring why some COVID-19 patients lose their sense of smell.
Doctors have reported that partial or total loss of the sense of smell is often an early symptom of infection with
SARS
-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Hate my appearance
I have a scar on my forehead from 14 stitches. I fell by the pool several summers ago. I even had a scar revision, but it still looks like a visible indent on my forehead. A teenage boy asked me why I have a "line" on my forehead, and I cried so much afterwards :( I cover it with clear medical tape

COVID-19 threatens the entire nervous system.
“It’s important for the general public and physicians to be aware of this, because a
SARS
-COV-2 infection may present with neurologic symptoms initially, before any fever, cough or respiratory problems occur,” said lead author of the review, Dr.

Could the blood of COVID-19 patients be used to predict disease progression?
People respond very differently to infection with the novel coronavirus (
SARS
-CoV-2). While some patients develop no symptoms at all, others will develop severe disease and may even die.

Pulmonary Fibrosis -Can it get better with time? Treatments? QOL?
They say like
SARS
it may get better or it may not and my Dad has been really upset today on FaceTime. I’m asking those who have had fibrosis, what impact has this had on your QOL? Have you managed to defy the doctors odds? Any helpful thoughts or advice much appreciated. Thanks

Covid-19 treatment developed at Israeli research institute
This, in turn, prevents further cell damage following infection with
SARS
-CoV-2. The two drugs are currently being tested for their effectiveness in treating animals infected with the coronavirus.
