Far beyond my comprehension S11m and can only say that, I agree with the article's heading. There are more questions than answers!
I thought the article clearly states that the test works - I think the questions they think are unanswered are does it indicate prevention of re-infection and virus shedding?
I think they probably did not buy the journalist a good enough lunch!
No idea. But the gov says they have got one, a reliable one. It can tell if you have had the virus but no one seems to be sure that this means you have immunity or not, or for how long.
They have also said not to buy the test that Superdrug? are selling as it is not very reliable. Superdrug refute this, of course.

I think the test is expensive and while I appreciate it needs to go to the lab for processing, the test will only be accessible to those who can afford to pay for it. xx
