Does topical retinoic acid effect the thyroid??
I believe that 25 years of daily topical Retin a has had an effect on my ability to convert t4 to active t3 based on my blood work. I do not have an autoimmune disorder. Wondering if it has something to do with retinol binding receptors and thyroid receptors?? Any ideas!????

Anti depressants and sleep
Hello: so my doctor says that once anti depressants kick in, that sleep improves. Has anyone found this to be true? I tried both sertraline and lexapro and both only worsened my insomnia so I stopped taking them after 3 months. I cannot take remeron (though it supposedly helps you sleep) because

Vitamin A and the Liver
I came across this and thought some may find it interesting, especially those who are wondering why they follow a good diet, don't drink, and don't have any virus or autoimmune problems. It seems to fall in line with the advice to not take anything, including supplements and, in some cases, certain foods

VITAMIN A versus betacarotine
When I first joined TUK,in pre internet forum days,I seem to remember being advised to take betacarotine,as hypothyroidism created a problem with converting vitamin A. Can't seem to find anything about this now.Is it a good idea to take vitamin A or betacarotine?Just finished some cod liver oil capsules

Fld, strange symptoms. Like info.
To be honest, I quit drinking by God's grace in 2000. But I picked up a fairly hardcore Vicodin habit. Than after quitting that, gained weight. I'm an old punk rocker lady and regret these choices. My symptoms started w vague stomachaches that I attributed to age. But I got an upper and lower, it was

Changing meds
Looking for some advice about meds. My son is 8 and takes Adderall XR 10mg. We thought it was helping but I am just not sure it is the right medication. His appetite is poor and not sleeping well lately. Doctor suggested Remeron to help with sleep and appetite? Anyone ever try it? Did it help?

I'm not a qualified Nutritionist but spend quite a lot of time pouring over serious reports from respectable, independent sources. I'm aware most people in the UK are 'already' obtaining the advised Government Daily Allowance of Vitamins, Minerals etc purely through stuff they eat and drink. And 'yes

Wellbutrin
I just posted this question in the wrong category so am trying again. Does anybody here take Wellbutrin for depression? Does it work and are there any side effects? Since I can't/won't take Remeron this is another option. Thank you all for putting up with me and what seems like my interminable questions
