RLS AND ANTIHISTAMINES
Could someone please advise an alternative to Fexofenadine as it has an effect on my Restless legs. Since stopping this drug my RLS has gone. I have spoken to my GP (UK) they said there is not and alternative to Fexofenadine that is 'non drowsy' on prescription. Thank you. Keith

R 1o Pneumonia..for sure.
I was at the hospital yesterday, I thought it was for a lung function test, but I completely misunderstood what the doctor said about the appointment for yesterday. It was just to see him again. I was really in a bad way with breathing and pain, one doctor said there wasn't enough air getting into

Week 7 Run 1
Hello! Not checked in for a while - did Week 7 Run 1 earlier. Can’t say I enjoyed it much because I’ve got a cold brewing; but, I did it. Been back at work (work in a school) for 4 weeks now and keep picking up bugs. Literally had a cold, stomach bug, and now another cold. If I got in 3 runs a week

Pred and vaccines (sorry, yes another damn post on this!)
Some may remember I was on Pred for 4 years with PMR on the slow reduction shift. Well I’m back on prednisolone this time due to lung inflammation due to Covid and Pneumonia. Starting dose was 40mg/day for 7 days, today I’m down to 30mg for the following 7 days, then reducing week on week by 5mg to come

Breathless and Barking Cough
Can anyone relate and / or explain why breathing and barking cough gets worse at night time / bed time. I was kept awake coughing for hours last night until I finally got to sleep in the wee hours. [ Bio: I’m almost 2 months post Covid / pneumonia and a CT revealing pulmonary fibrosis. After 2 spells

Flu and covid jabs
I am at a PMRGCA local group meeting and a new lady asked if she should have the flu and covid jabs, separately, as she had pneumonia after her joint covid and jab a year ago. She was subsequently diagnosed with PMR.

Advice re flu jabs
What is the thinking about steroid doses when you are booked for a flu jab. I have mine on Monday!! I am currently tapering from 20mg to 10mg with the taper down by 2.5mg every 3 weeks. I drop to 17.5mg this Friday.

Flu vaccination
I am nervous! I had an ablation (RF) at the end of March this year and so far as I am aware no episodes since (last January 2024). My heart rate is slightly faster, around 72bpm, previously around 62bpm. I have booked my flu vaccination for the 9th of October but terrified of waking the beast up. Has

Covid and Flu Jabs
I've been having covid and flu jabs for the last few years, I'm over 50. This year though I didnt get an invite from my GP, the rest of my family did ( hubby and two adult sons). I dont know if they've changed the eligibility criteria or I've just been missed off somehow. Have other people been invited

Cold face
Hi - back up to 40 pred and getting a symptom I had when I was first diagnosed with GCA a year ago. My face is very cold. It isn't painful, just a bit weird but I wonder whether anybody else has had this? I don't think it can be harmful because I did have it before and it seems to go away when the dose

SMOKERS COUGH.
SMOKERS COUGH. Smoking Cessation-Related Coughing. When we stop smoking, cilia gradually start functioning again and the lungs begin the work of moving trapped toxins up and out. It is thought that this might cause a cough that could last for the first couple of months of smoking cessation until cilia

'Flu and covid jabs at same time !
I'm 83 and have had RA since I was 48 . I normally book my 'flu and covid jabs separately. This year I've "bitten the bullet" and booked them at the same time ( different arms ) at the end of October. I've always felt quite "meh" after the covid jab and last year I felt similarly after the 'flu jab

ABBV-101 update
Hi, I wanted to let you know that I'm faring well with the blood test results on the trial thus far, and have my energy back which is great. I hate the thought of having to have so many CT scans on this trial, but I also understand why being something that is relatively new. Yesterday, I read a post

No reaction
Had my pneumonia and shingles jabs last Tuesday and so far no reaction, only a sore arm for a day. Covid and flu jabs in a couple of weeks time, hope for the same outcome.

Breathing Exercise 2: How to cough up what's not supposed to be there...
When you first stop smoking, you may feel that you have more phlegm and mucus on your chest This may cause you to feel a bit rattly and as though you need to ' cough something up'... Doesn't sound very nice, I know but this is a good sign. At the end of the day, you are only coughing up what is not
