Struggling to put on weight
Hi I wonder if there is anybody struggling to put on weight in spite of having 1800-2000 calorie input a day. On this site I usually find only posts in which people complain of not being able to lose weight. I have persistent AF, heart failure and CKD stage 3a. Whenever I ask my doctor why I cannot

Post Ablation Diagnosis
I have been very fortunate and had my Afib ablation in Leicester in May. I had excellent treatment with very minimal side effects from the procedure and am back doing exercise and best of all, no episodes of Afib - so all very positive even though it is very early days. My follow up appointment is in

Dehydration.
I am on Bumetanide twice daily for mild heart failure. We all know what it does but in this weather we are encouraged not to become dehydrated. I am drinking loads of fluids but should I expect more or less loo trips under these circumstances. Still no rain here.

considering Pluvicto or Erleada
I was in

in July for a few days but back to “normal” now. I also had a mild stroke over Christmas and almost back to “normal” PSA is up to 213 so I need to decide whether to try Erleada (I failed Zytiga and Xtandi) or opt for a Pluvicto regime.

NT-proBNP test shows over 1800 (2,255) Does it indicate heart failure?

Afib and heart failure
Does afib always lead to heart failure?I have just had a medication review with a specialist who works with our GP surgery and doctors. He claims that any afib present leads to heart failure between 1 and 20% in the early stages. This is frightening. My afib episodes are very symptomatic and come around

NSR...out of the blue!!
Last year I had 3 ablations for persistent AF, all deemed to be unsuccessful. 5 months after number 2 , I had 9 days of NSR but then went back into persistent AF with no further breakthroughs. Number 3 was arranged as a top up but after that did not result in NSR for more than a day it was decided AF

Good News Today
I just left my EPS office with good news. I actually thought I was having problems with my new pacemaker but the office it is true. Dr Saini kept raising my ECG print out telling me how wonderful it is and my echo was the same. For all purposes, my heart on there looks the same as anyone with a normal

Effect of thyroid dysfunction on N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide levels: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Papers regarding the impact of inappropriate thyroid hormone levels keep coming out. It would be a miracle if endocrinologists showed any evidence of having read them. And incorporated the lessons into their practices. [i]

I have friends with lupus in

with no dsdna so I believe that can happen. I do, however, have Scleroderma antibodies in the form of Centromere B.

. I sit every day reading the reports trying to understand how someone could go from Normal to deatlhy ill so fast. To me, it seams that the hospital caused the issues, with the combination of meds used.
