Looking for help :(
Diagnosed with hashimotos. I’ve had a few ongoing issues and symptoms and they’re getting worse. My endo didn’t believe it was thyroid related or pcos related but arranged for other tests like ACTH, RF etc. He also stated at this point they were discharging me as there’s nothing more they can help with

helvella - Thyroid Blog
You might or might not know that I have been accumulating information about thyroid issues in my blog - I have created a significant number of pages now. Many will be aware of some of the specific pages which I link to quite regularly. But you might not have realised what else is there. Below is a copy

TSH is over 28
Hello, could anyone comment on my blood test, please, because my GP cannot. I am 60 years old female, for the past six months T3 and T4 are normal but after start taking prescribed Levothyroxine TSH went from 8 to 28 and my body temperature dropped to 33C. I have felt extremely weak, constantly

Intermittent fasting (daily 16:8) while taking Levothyroxine - to control weight. Your thoughts please, Is this ok or not advisable?
I’ve read that leaving 16 hours in between eating or drinking anything other than water is an effective way for the body to burn its fat stores. Then during the 8 hour window that you do have food, you make sure you are consuming all the beneficial vitamins, minerals, protein, etc. and sufficient calories

latest nhs results..
They’ve only done the tsh this time (actually I think that will be the norm now), but strangely the return of my symptoms coincides with an NHS tsh test of 1.96 which is EXACTLY the same tsh result as Sept last year when symptoms returned and I asked for the test and then for a small increase from 50

Morning and thank you for allowing me to join the group 🙂 I am here because my doctor has told me my bloods are normal but I’m feeling unwell. I have been taking levothyroxine for about 8 years and never had a problem, I used to take my pill and forget about it. But recently I’ve become tired and

Hypo Throidism
This diagnosis has overwhelming effects on life. I have all the symptoms. Levothyroxine prescription changes with blood tests. None of it works Really is this truly all that is available. If it’s an auto immune system attacking my Thyroid or so I was told by my latest GP phone call. Why not deal with

Lactose-free Levo / night time dosing?
Hi Last week my endo has started me on Levo - lowest starting dose of 25mg. I gave up dairy 6mths ago due to ongoing gastro issues (which I am now thinking may contribute to thyroid issue). Anyway… the pharmacist has given me generic Levo containing lactose. TBH it didn’t even occur to me to check

Confused about starting dose of Levothyroxine.
Hi, this is my first time posting. I was diagnosed with subclinical Hashimotos in 2019. I decided at the time to manage without any medication. I’m now in perimenopause which is having an effect on my thyroid symptoms. For the last month I’ve been feeling very cold, exhausted, aching joints all over

medicheck results, what to do next?
I have posted my results before from Medichecks and I persuaded my youngest daughter to take the thyroid and vitamin test recently due to her symptoms of lethargy and the fact that not only I have hypothyroidism but also her Dad and older sister. Her iron plus Vit D were all low so she is now taking

Thyroid Belly
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year. My meds are now stabilized. I take 87.5 mg a day of levothyroxine tablets. When I lie down I notice I have a hard, round stomach. No lumps etc (I had an ovarian cyst about 10 years ago so it's not like that). Just big. I'm also perimenopausal. Is this something

Hot flashed & wright gain
I’ve been on levothyroxine since January 2022. Ever since my symptoms started I have suffered from extreme hot flashes & sweating multiple time’s per hour daily, I’ve not had any respite for nearly 3 years. It’s got so bad that I no longer leave my house because of how bad the hot flashes are. This has

Where is T4 tablet broken down
Where is T4 levothyroxine tablet broken down in the body. Is it in the stomach or small intestine or both? I am on antibiotics at the moment and have had stomach upset today and diarrhoea, and this is the reason for my question and whether it has affected absorption of the tablet I took my tablet

I speed from Armour Thyroid (1 grain am 3/4 pm ) last Monday to 50 mcg Levo and 10mcg Liothyronibe am and another 10 mcg pm. Bloods done Tuesday am (last dose T4 24 hrs before and split T3 am/3:00 pm and 7:30 pm). Only water before test at 7:30 am. Results below. I’m wondering how quickly the change
