I am having problems getting hold of Accord Levothyroxine. My GP pharmacy says they cannot get it despite having supplied me with it for the last 15 months. I took my prescription to Boots and they say they can't get it either. They have offered me Wockhardt but I having had a reaction to TEVA once, I am reluctant to change, mix or try another brand. I am currently taking 125mg per day of the Accord. Any thoughts welcome.
Thank you.

Boots often, indeed usually, supply Almus - which is just a specially packaged Accord product. If the person you asked didn't understand that then they might have answered unhelpfully (even if pedantically accurate!)
Other than that, just ring or otherwise contact pharmacies.
You can try contacting Accord - at one time that was the best approach but we have so many supply issues I'm not sure how helpful that approach is nowadays.
Having an issue with Teva doesn't in itself suggest you are likely to have an issue with Wockhardt. Obviously anything is possible.
You might need the prescription replaced ats Wockhardt is 25 only and Accord is 50 and 100.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.
I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, etc.
Contains details of all levothyroxine, liothyronine and combination products - excluding desiccated thyroid products. Details available vary by country and manufacturer.
The link below takes you to a blog page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones. You will have to scroll down or up to find the link to the document you want.
Ah thank you so much. I have since telephoned Accord UK and they advised that the 25mg Accord was discontinued last year and I'm wondering if this is causing the confusion. She said that there shouldn't be any problem getting hold of the 100mg version. So I shall need to go back to the GP and request a prescription for 50mg so I can cut those in half and be on my way. Hopefully that will work. Thank you again. The links you provided will be useful. I appreciate it.
Sorry I meant the GP have been supplying 100mcg Accord to date. Strange the company would tell me they did used to have the 25 but either way I will have to get the 50 and cut in half.
