I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year. My meds are now stabilized. I take 87.5 mg a day of levothyroxine tablets. When I lie down I notice I have a hard, round stomach. No lumps etc (I had an ovarian cyst about 10 years ago so it's not like that). Just big. I'm also perimenopausal. Is this something that is normal with this condition?

Hi Iloveunicorns1977, your post does not seem to have raised any thoughts at present. Can you give us more details? What are your latest blood results? Have you been tested for vitamins and minerals and do you take any supplements?
It is probably best for you to ask your doctor to look at this.
All the best.
Food intolerance, IBS, gastritis, are what come to mind, and probably some other possibilities of stomach/digestion related issues correlated or caused by being hypo.
I’ve never had these myself, but wonder if any of the above ring a bell for you or if the physical hardness is accompanied by any symptoms.
Not what you're looking for?
