Update
I pushed for
radiotherapy
to the prostate as it’s already in my lymphatic system but I thought I’d hit the mother load. My advice is to read and prompt your oncologist constantly. I have never accepted the one size fits all and have gone off piste with many of my choices.

Still on the roller coaster.
Having done more tests on the biopsy sample they found I also have another type of cancer - one which won't respond to Tamoxifen so now I'll be having a lumpectomy on the 9th Sept, followed by a different tablet treatment, then later - once the scars have healed there'll be three weeks of daily

Urologist vs. Oncologist?
I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in November of 2012. At that time, my PSA was 8 and my Gleeson was 5 + 4= 9. I started Guided Radiation Therapy, at Scripp's Radiation Center, in La Jolla, in January 2013. I started Lupron Therapy, in November of 2012. (2 years worth) In December of 2016 I experienced

I got to ring that bell
On Wednesday I had my last
radiotherapy
and I got to ring the bell, after 20 rounds of
radiotherapy
, 18 weeks of chemotherapy and 2 operations. I know not everyone is lucky enough to ring the bell, my late husband included.

Sugar and cancer, in particular Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL/SLL) – what you need to know
What’s more, unlike traditional chemotherapy and
radiotherapy
, the use of PARP14 inhibitors would only kill cancer cells and not healthy ones. The next step is to design and generate new drugs that can block this protein and work out how to use them safely in patients.

It was graded T2 and my oncologist has said that normal treatment for this would be 28 days of
radiotherapy
to the pelvic region and chemotherapy treatment too.

Good news from biopsy
The report just arrived that a biopsy of a vertebrae shows no signs of cancer. My original bone scan showed activity in the rt tibia and in the T6 vertebral body. Subsequent scans showed no activity in the tibia, but the activity in the T6 vertebra persistented and showed no regression after several

I'm relatively new here - trying to cope!
I know the tumour is growing, is in an awkward place for surgery, but not suitable apparently for
radiotherapy
. I sometimes feel very much on my own as I don't want to bother family and friends with my concerns. How do others cope? Any help would be appreciated.
