What tests?
I was treated for an overactive thyroid with
radiotherapy
and carbimazole many years ago, after which I took thyroxine until I had a reaction to it. I was told by my then GP that my levels were normal and it was stopped.

Delaying starting tamoxifen
My oncotype score was 13 and as the mastectomy had clear margins I thankfully don’t need either chemo or
radiotherapy
. As my cancer was ER+ I now need to start tamoxifen. My question is have any of you ladies delayed starting tamoxifen by a few weeks?

New prostate cancer treatment concept
Recent clinical trials have hinted that combining immunotherapy and radiation therapy may be a powerful treatment approach for castration-resistant prostate cancer. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2019-08-prostate-cancer-treatment-concept.html

Go off Firmagon to see if radiation worked?
We've got a decision to make and I'd value any feedback from you. My husband had HIFU 3 years ago and we hoped we were home free. PSA started to rise. We started on Firmagon and an Axumin scan found 3 local lymph nodes with PC, we opted for radiation to the lymph node area (thanks to Tall_Allen for the

Sometimes feel it is only me but it can’t surely?
Good afternoon wise and wonderful people in my iPad. Did any of you have your thyroid function destroyed following radiation therapy in the 1950s for removal of a birth mark or similar. Perhaps you know someone who did? I am assured this cause is not covered in the guidelines for a referral

Advice on most complete lab tests to do, including possible Vitamin deficiencies, for Hypothyroidism after radiation therapy
Hi to all, I have found various lists of labs to be done, one that seemed comprehensive I couldn't download, and would be thankful if someone could spell it out for me again (my memory is not too good...!) I am currently on Tirosint, since May, and it's proving difficult to manage. (I can give more info

Getting back to who I used to be!
I am still struggling with the side effects of the chemo and
radiotherapy
. Because of the type of chemo drug I was on and coupled with the steroids I had to take my weight has gone up by over 2 stone.

Good scan news today ;-) 15 months in.
She had
radiotherapy
at the beginning to a few areas. Her neck fixed with metal work and started her treatment. Each scan has showed slight improvement which we never dreamed was a possibility.

LUNG NODULE BIOPSY
Because I have had an upper left lobe resectef, they want to be safe and give me
radiotherapy
. They are not sure about this nodule. It's also in a strange place, as usual. Now I am confused whether to wait 3 months for a further CT or have it zapped, knowing it may not be a dangerous tumour.

Lung with brain Mets and not treating
There was hope of immunotherapy being given after initial
radiotherapy
to the brain but dad is unable to come off steroids due to brain so it has been decided that they are not going to treat him at all. We as a family are devastated. Dad seems to have withdrawn.

Limiting tumor seeding as a therapeutic approach for metastatic disease

The Alien has left the building!!
My Alien was attached to blood vessels and bowel but I didn't need resection and it's gone off for analysis.I was told there was some surgical, pins left in,as I might need
radiotherapy
and the pins will show exactly where the tumour was. Reform those ladies that asked.
